What’s Been Your Favorite Mod?

Curious what mods you’ve bought for your E9x M3, and which have added the most enjoyment from the platform. Overall as a new owner it’s a very sorted chassis. The only “need” is pads and fluid. I’ve handled the RB’s already.

So far I want a haimus carbon plenum and a dinan rear section just to spice it up.

Whew, that's a tough Q. I'm happy with all of my mods, but it's hard to determine a favorite. Some are a better value than others, but naturally the more expensive ones usually have a bigger absolute impact.
Best bang for the buck is probably a DCT tune for a DCT car, or an SSK for a 6MT car. Overall my favorite might be the MPE, sounds good every time I drive, no matter how I drive, and looks nice as well.
And shoutout to the Dinan camber plates and sway bar combo, which together really added front end grip and overall dynamic balance with no downside and for reasonable cost, matched to the ZCP suspension really well.

Super 8.8 swap from a s550 performance package m/t mustang. GForce axles billet inner and outer stubs, Spicer 1350 joints one piece drive shaft. No more axle hop in any situation wet /dry /tires even with 100k suspension OEM bushings.

Edit.

Butyl rubber on the subframe as well

Dang thats a tough one.
I've always been a handling / suspension guy before doing power mods. I was surprised how good the stock suspension was when I bought my car. That said, Swift springs were the first thing I installed. They are a perfect match for the stock suspension. No bounciness, just firm throughout and drop the car to appropriate height.

I installed/changed each mod individually, and had the pleasure of experiencing each of them in order. Never installed any of these at the same time.
Spark plugs
Swift springs
Intake
DCT GTS tune
Exhaust
Primary cat delete
Epic 93 octane tune
Underdrive pulleys
18X10 & 18X11 wheels with summer tires.

I think the Epic tune really solidified the engines character and just made it that much more user friendly, as in I don't need to sit in power mode all the time. The underdrive pulleys were the cherry on top and sealed the deal. Theyre a subtle change but add the final layer of fun. The power after 5k continues to surprise me.

Going from 19x9 & 10 to 18X10 & 11 was perhaps the most satisfying. The e92 m3 is heavy and the added tire real estate really helped stabilize the chassis.

Stupid simple, but for my 6MT it was the zcp shift knob. I keep my e90 basically stock though!

I haven't done much mods yet but I am about to have Ohlins R&T installed. I have driven a friends car with them and they are sooo good. I think it completes the car. Shifter may be next.

I am strongly debating this for no reason other than making swapping pads easier. Oh how I dislike the stock calipers.

Ask 10 ppl and you'll get 11 different answers to your question. Lol

I've got nearly every bolt on for the car other than a supercharger. There are at least a dozen mods I would definitely do again if I had to start from scratch.

But I know the first three mods I would do without any hesitation as they really transform the car without any compromise - an Android iDrive screen, a BPM tune and solid rear subframe bushes.

My opinions:

Best E9X M3 mod is a BBK if you track at all. PFC or Essex/AP would accentuate the improvement.

Next best is Akrapovic which is NLA for this platform.

Interesting… I have new subs in the garage maybe I should follow your path here!

Combination of solid subframe bushings and carbon fiber driveshaft. Both made a big difference.

For pure hedonistic aural pleasure: Eventuri plenum and airbox.

Ohlins are a great if obvious choice too.
