Tischer BMW always does mine for $128, are other places that much cheaper?

i think 30-40$ per wheel is fair price.
128$ from dealer is good price. you can save 10-20$ but not worth it getting it done from some no name / rep shop.

It's a lot more than that from a dealer - Passport quoted me 1800$ for PSS installed, whereas Tire Rack to another installer is more in the range of 1200-1300$.

Seems to be an obvious decision, unless I'm missing something.

Don't buy the tires from the dealer

also at the dealer, you get a loaner, so basically, if you value your time, you can't beat a dealer with a loaner fleet. BMW Alexandria also does it for $128 ish and I have always gotten a loaner there

Another option for you to consider, if you REALLY value your time, and you're looking to buy the tires from the installer. Tire Van. They come to your house with a truck and do it. On the weekend if you like. See their web site for prices. They've always been on market price-wise.

Second Tire Van. I've used them on my previous cars with success (haven't yet needed new tires on the M). They exclusively use road force balancing.

I was at Passport BMW yesterday and they had a big poster in the service department comparing the installed price of several popular BMW tire choices between several local vendors, and Tire Rack as well. The Passport prices were cheaper. Wonder if it's true?

Is tire van actually a good deal or is it more expensive? I would love not having to transport my tires to the shop everytime.

I don't remember it being more expensive. I'm pretty sure you can get a full quote online if you're curious.

Their prices and service is 2nd to none. They've beaten every price from every place I know, including Costco (who is also usually inexpensive and good service). I've bought at least 20 sets of (mostly race) tires from Paul and can't recommend them highly enough. 1 note - the place is usually busy as hell, especially Saturdays. Avoid Saturday if you can. They can get pretty much any tire made (including trailer and skid steer to full on race slicks), just call and ask and they'll order them and they'll usually have them within a day or two.

No financial incentive for me, just a super happy customer who won't use anyone other then radial.
