Stg I for me...ehhhh
BBK..sure, but not if I've only got $20k and know I want a Stg II from AA, and a nice set of Brembo's or AP. Not gonna happen. Throw in the Akropovic Titanium, and you're done. You find all that for under $20k and we'll chat again.

Here is what I'm looking for:

AA StgII = Approx $14k-15k
Akrapovic Titanium Exhaust = $5795
Brembo/AP Racing = $6-$7k+
Decent set of ADV1s = $4k-5k+
Installation = an arm and a leg

Total = Too much for just $20k
$20k can go fast if you buy quality stuff. Depends on your tastes. Mine just so happen to be expensive.
and overpriced

Performance mods for street or track? There was a calculation some where in the forum suggesting that it costs about 1k$/track day. So go do 20 track days

Save your money.

I wouldn't call spending $20k on a $60k car a sound investment.

It has nothing to do with quality. You get a lot for your money with the stage 1 kit, and yes, I like quality products as well. Have you driven an M3 with a stage 1 kit and a full exhaust? I think it is plenty fast... having said that, more power is obviously always better.

So you can get a SC and a full exhaust for $20K... and if he is not tracking the (something tells me he won't ) he doesn't need a BBK anyway.
Point noted.

Assuming you want to track it;
Harness belts: $400
Akrapovic Evolution: $6,000
18" Apex Arc-8 18x10's with rcomps of your choosing: $2,500
BBK of your choosing with track pads plus extra front set: $7,000
TC Kline D/A coil overs and camber plates with track alignment: $4,000
Case of octane booster: $100
Total: $20,000.

Wow, lots of opinions on what to do. Thanks for the suggestions, I think I'm going to spend (some of) the money tracking it since that's where I'm going to have the most fun, and then maybe mod some things as I feel it needs them, most likely BBK. I tend to agree that SC is probably the most "fun" mod, but also will change the attitude of the car the most, and I am happy with the power it has, especially considering I rarely am at WOT - it's my DD.

Btw, I notice a couple people got real testy when I didn't reply to my own thread quickly. I don't visit these forums very often, maybe every 2 weeks, so yeah, not trying to "be a douche", I just have a busy life.

Again, thank you for all of your suggestions.

If I had $20K to Spend
I'd buy one of those
I've already owned one, and I'll buy another one someday
No need to reinvent the wheel
Why mod a perfectly nice car
When you can get the grandaddy of them all?

I would do what I did:
1. BBS Wheels - 5K
2. Akra Exhaust - 5.5K
3. Springs - $500
4. Crank Pulley - $500
5. Intake - $500
6. Tint, little touches, grill painting, etc.. $500
7. Tune and coding (from me of course!) - $1000

Oh wow still lots of money left, only one more mod makes sense....

6. ESS SC! (this will negate the need for the tune above if you go this route). Coding still well worth it!

Unless you wanted to make a really sweet N/A car and put a Brembo BBK on it / Further body mods, etc..
