You don't wanna look for places or shops, rather the tuner themself. A lot of shops don't even make the tunes themselves, they outsource it. Alex alpine would be my recommendation. He will ship you a cable and software and can even help with remotely installing the tune for you.

+1. Great tunes and exceptional service.

Obviously cash is not an issue as I dont see alex's tune is going to be 100% better than the one got. How much extra torque / hp / throttle response can a tuner get over another on the m3 v8 s65 setup. Love to see dynos overlayed on each other. I reckon bugger all differences on the whole.

Considering OP doesn't know the where the tune originates and has had bad experiences with the shop that installed the tune I'm sure he'd rather go directly to the tuner. Alex is one of 3 tunes that offers e85 tune, the e85 tune has proven to give quite a bump in power over 91. Since OP was so caught up over peak numbers I'm sure he wants to squeeze everything out of his current tune which doesn't seems like it's possible from the issues he's having with the company/shop that installed it.

Hi,
What are the e85 tune and e91 ?
I want to know the details of what my car produces in term of numbers for the record, i know there are other factors that contribute to the car performance, i prefer to have it take off fast rether than getting higher top speed.
Is that something i should look at "area under the curve and how much is between 1500 and 4000 rpm" ?
Cheers

I would start by asking the shop that installed the tune to give you info on the tune. It'd be easiest to speak to the tuner directly as apposed to the shop. As I mentioned, a lot of shops outsource they're tunes so you may in fact have a tune from some of the bigger tuners out there.

Hi Mate,

If your interest is to come off the line quick then the peak HP figure is irrelevant. Unfortunately the S65 just isn’t built to make power low in the rev range and although a tune may help a little it would be negligible (Not including E85 which is more work than just a tune and unless you have an e85 servo near by not something you want to run everyday) If you want power down low supercharge it, you will have masses of torque which will make things lively from 0 RPM and up!

Can I also suggest you do a bit of reading on the foundations of how engines make power and how that is tweaked through modification. Understanding the foundations will really give you a deeper understanding of everything from why the A/F ratios on a dyno sheet are important when working out how maxed out the tune is through to understanding why an E85 tune can deliver amazing gains but will really push your engines limits to get there. A Dyno sheet is a reasonably simple graph to read once you have the understanding of why the measurements are there and what they relate to.
It just means in future you don’t have to rely completely on (what’s sounds like a very dismissive) mechanic. On that note can I ask if he tuned the car at all or just bolted the parts on and completed a single dyno run to give you a figure?

Having said that this E85 tuned m3 is quuuuick!

You will have to replace the ******** with boost addict. Don’t know why they block it?
Having said that the 60ft time isn’t that special which maybe means that the e85 tune isn’t making the car come off the line very quickly which you were looking for, but definitely would be very fast!

Hi mate, thankyou.
Do you know if supercharge would impact on the car handling, which is the beauty of m3 over c63 (i believe)?
Also, why noone seems to mention turbo charge m3e92 ?
And i tried but could not open the link you provided.

The guy is from the US, so their AKI 91 is equivalent to our RON 95.

Can anyone recommend a joint who specialises in wheel alignments for E92 M3 in Melb?

Yep, "septical " with a silence on what I fill my "tank" up with says it's all. If your in Perth or Melbourne surely you tick the 93 box for your tune.

My M3 isn't supercharged so I cannot comment but I am sure there are many here that can. I would assume you would have to control the handling with your right foot a little more than you do now.

I assume no one turbo charges this engine as you would firstly need to lower the compression and more importantly a turbo takes a few 1000 rpm to get to full boost so it doesn't solve the low end power problem.

True. But places like bob jane etc. do the worst wheel alignments from experience.

I might just go to my local BMW dealer and align my car to OEM spec or E92 GTS spec.

That will cost a fair whack. I have taken my cars to true track in north melbourne and traction tyres in rowille. Aren't your run of the mill wheel aligners.
