I know, digging up an old thread. I am in this same boat. 2011 e93 with factory combox, 6fl a 6vc. I have done the coding to get the phone and bluetooth up and running, but can't find anywhere what to do with the mic wiring or addition as mentioned several times in this thread. The folks that said the had the answer are not active anymore, and I have lost voice command, it doesn't hear me, and though the phone pairs and calls perfectly, nobody can here me. Anyone with information that will help me get the mic up and running?

Success!

Okay, finally got this accomplished. All the coding was done with bimmergeeks Protool. My problem, as stated before, was that I could not get the mic configured and figured out. After initial coding, I lost voice command (it responded, but not to commands) and nobody could hear me on a bluetooth call. After a ton of searching I found no definitive answers at all.Time for trial and error! I went back into coding and found that VO coding had assigned the mic to the most loop as active. Deactivated that and got voice command back, but still, no mic to bluetooth. I ordered a 2 wire harness with an OEM mic for 2014+. I ran that from pins 12 and 25 on the combox to the steering column in mic 2's empty location. Tried a call and was heard crystal clear!

I am now 100% functional with Bluetooth, text messages, email and contacts, bluetooth audio from my Samsung Note 9 phone for any app and am able to forward and reverse music vids from YouTube etc via steering wheel controls. The CIC also displays all song title and artist info from streaming sources. Happy, happy, happy and all for under $100.

Pins 12 and 25 on the combox plug worked for me. Don't remember the polarity. I was adding a second mic since I already had one for voice command, but had to have a separate one for bluetooth calls.

Edit - 25+ 12-

Huh, my voice command mic worked fine for Bluetooth calls. That is, until doing the battery cable recall at the dealer wiped out the coding.

Hi guys, I’ve got the same problem; E92 M3 with USB combox but no Bluetooth telephony! Does anyone know of any reputable companies doing this retrofit in the U.K? I’d rather get an expert to fit mine professionally.

The spec is below if it helps.

USB Interface
DAB Digital Radio
Individual Audio

Thanks!

I had run the vin through mdecoder prior to purchasing the vehicle... it references 6VC and 6FL, but no mention of Bluetooth anywhere, so I just figured it wasn’t there... I picked it up today, and had Bluetooth phone and music going. Only issue is pretty terrible Bluetooth call quality, but it was there.

Build date shows as 2011-08-05.

After about 3 hours of digging around in old threads I finally came across this one and I'm feeling hopeful that I am not too far from an answer now. I am in a similar position to the discussions in this thread...but not identical. I have just bought a beautiful 2011 E90 with factory combox, 6FL, 6VC, 6AA and 6AB. I do not have iDrive or Navigation. Build date is 06/24/2011. I have done the coding to get my iPhone 11 up and running via Bluetooth and it works great. Is it possible to stream music with my set-up or will I need additional hardware? Thanks in advance for any help on this.

I know this is a old thread but I’m in the same bost. Car has factory combox, nav and should have phone calls/voico control. My voico control doesn’t work and my CIC doesn’t have the phone menu nor BT option. Any chance someone know ehat to do? Combox looks like it doesn’t have the left cable hooked, wich should be the bt antenna?

Hello,

I have a 2011 10/10 build date 335i. NON-Idrive professional audio only. My VO has 6AB and 6VC as well. Please tell me theres a way to code bluetooth media in. ONE time in the years i owned this car, it random played my music for a few seconds even when it was only connected through bluetooth phone.

Would appreciate your help. Please and thanks.

If youd like to dm me on instagram as well, feel free @santispec
