If you could order your M3 again would you do anything different?

I am really quite happy with everything about my M3 but if I could do it again, I would do an individual interior with contrast stitching. I think it adds such a nice touch to the interior look. I honestly don't know why BMW couldn't just do this from the start. It's not like using a different color thread from the beginning would cost any more. My wife's Audi A4 S-line comes with contrast stitching and Alcantara/Leather seats and it looks so nice.

I'm not sure if M3 can come with a Saddle color leather (some call it cinnamon). I see it in Audis and Ferraris. Love it and willing to pay extra $1000 for it.

I agree with you, the interiors that you can get in Audis and hell even in the VW line are really sharp.

I believe that Rust Brown is the closest color now?

I wish I went Individual with the exterior paint. I am also disappointed that I decided to pass on the extended interior leather.

OP: Agreed, contrast stitching is really sharp looking.

Zach: Fully agreed! An Audi interior is very nice.

As funds permit, I'm changing my suspension for more track duty so I probably shouldn't have ordered the ZCP.

OP: Interesting question

I guess one other thing I wish they would have offered is a Melbourne interior over the fox red like they did with Imola on the E46. Not that I don't love my fox red interior, which I do Its just that in the first pictures that I saw of it, it looked more red than it is.

I definitely wouldn't changing my MCB color choice. However, the interior is ALL black. I have speed cloth, which i love, but that paired with the carbon leather is pretty damn dark.
I should have paid some more coin for an Individual interior as well. I'll get something from IND to spice it up.

Oh, and ZCP wasn't the best choice either since i've already replaced the springs and don't really care for the silver ZCP wheels.

WARNING!! I'm in no way attempting to start a DCT/6MT argument. This is merely my personal thought.

If I were ordering again, I would order with DCT, not 6MT. I've owned MT cars my entire (driving) life. I love the interaction, and the control I have with a MT. Having driven both versions of this car though, I think the DCT is a better match to the engine, generally speaking.

I also would probably have gone individual on my interior had I known more about it when I ordered.

I would skip the nav, get the carbon fiber roof, and go 6MT. Color would change too, because it would be a different car. Maybe AW, LMB or an individual color.

I wanted extended bamboo but the ordering option was not workable so had to find something already built. Got the bamboo but no amount of searching found it in extended. Oh well... Got pretty close to what I wanted. Not bad finding a new one with e90 not being built anymore.

I would have gone with the upgraded stereo system. Coming from a 335i, I thought the base M3 would at least have the Logic 7 system. But the advantage of the base system is the weight saving.

This.
My dealer actually convinced me to skip the upgrade because the stereo sounded so great with the Logic 7 and eq. When I get the car, Im like, wheres the EQ and logic 7 stuff? Reply: Oh, I guess it doesnt come with that.(They genuinely didnt know) Damnit! SO ya, I didnt know the differences and wish it had the premium now because I really dont want to spend the coin on an aftermarket upgrade for the few times I actually turn the music up.

Would have liked to have done an individual exterior color. Maybe MCB, maybe something else. Sadly, I ordered too late in the e90 production cycle and probably couldn't have done an individual color even if I'd tried.

...and there's this. If you bought an M3 with HiFi post 2009 you lost 2 speakers also. My 2008 328i had 10 speakers with HiFi and my 2011 M3 has 8 speakers. I swear I cannot hear the difference. Thank god.

I would get an Individual color like Fire Orange or Atacama Yellow (neither of which were available when I purchased my car), get the non-electric seats (also unavailable at the time), and put some serious consideration into an E90, though the IND CF roof would be a must.

I'm happy with everything else.
