Tuner Motorsport + ZCP
In preparation for buying my M3 at the end of this year I've been doing a lot of MODS Research lately and I came across TunerMotorsports.com's website and saw this description WRT the CRFP Carbon Fiber Front Spoiler Lips:
======================================= E9X M3 Genuine BMW Competition Package (ZCP) Carbon Fiber Front Spoiler Lips (Pair) - All E90/E92 M3 Part #: 51112160271-2 They're here! These are the Genuine BMW "Competition Package" (ZCP option code) front lip spoilers, which fit perfectly and are made up ultra-light, high quality carbon fiber. These are the same font splitters that come on all the 2011 M3 Competition Package models, and they can easily be added to the standard M3 front bumper for the same aggressive (yet factory) look. Set includes one left spoiler (BMW part number 51112160271 / 51-11-2-160-271) and one right lip spoiler (BMW part number 51112160272 / 51-11-2-160-272) as well as mounting hardware. Fits all 2008, 2009, 2010 and newer M3, including E90 M3 sedan, E92 M3 coupe, E93 convertible. ======================================== They also have the same generic description for the CRFP Rear Lip Spoiler. I'm assuming when they referenced "Competition Package ZCP option code" in their description write-up they were referring to the actual ZCP Competition Package on BMWUSA.com's "Build Your Own" M3 ZCP option for $2,500. Obviously there is no mention of the CFRP Front Spoiler Lips or CFRP Rear Lip Spoiler in the ZCP Competition Package option description on BMW's "Build Your Own" website. My question is: Is this description said in error or did BMW at one point offer the ZCP Competition Package with the CRFP Front Spoiler Lips and CRFP Rear Lip Spoiler as a package deal? Still new to the BMW/M3 community so please keep your flames on the low setting! |

Their description is incorrect. ZCP never included the splitters.
I think the problem is that one of the first public showings of a ZCP car included the installed splitters which were released at about the same time. Some people, apparently Turner's ad copy writers among them, lumped them together.
