Must be just about price? Top of the line Taurus against the bottom line A6?
The Ford is just butt-ugly.

I would hope ford wouldn't put something where they lost on their own website...

It's nice that it has decent straight line performance, but in most other ways I am sure the Audi would win, except maybe reliability.

I drive a Ford too, so I am not trying to bash them. It is just propaganda.

Wow, the 4.2 V8 is getting tired. Why not the 3.0 supercharged S4 to keep the price low?

I don't think that motor is available in the A6 or S6. The Taurus is not in the same size class as the S4 so you wouldn't necessarily see that comparo.

Why do I feel like I gotta defend my european cousin against an american bully?

Nah ford is stepping up their game but yea that comparo was a little off and definately wouldn't hold up in a track lap time.

Yes, the A6 3.0T has the supercharged V6 of the S4. The S6 doesn't have it, it has a V10

Well considering the whole point of the video was how the turbo V6 was better than a NA V8, why would they choose another FI engine to compare to???

It isnt about the performance.

Image is just as important. What are you portraying when you have a car that looks the same as the one on the Enterprise lot and sounds like a Washing machine?

Yep, "I got a huge discount on it and i had to, really".

no, at the end of the day, it's a top performer with one of the best engines in the class. I guess we're not actually car people here?

I'll never understand why people get butthurt that a Ford can produce similar or better numbers than a foreign?

Some of you are making the sorriest excuses I've seen. This entire thread so far is riddled with simple anti-Ford fanboyism and poor excuse-making.

Ford = top performer? dude that car is a freakin boat with sh*t for handling...Ford will always be a Ford no matter what engine you put in it...and its not about numbers...its about feel for the car, reliability, handling etc...you dont buy a car cause it has a better 0-60 than another car....and that taurus is the most hideous looking car ive seen in a while

Well that is a very lame generalization. Think really hard and I'll bet you can think of some really good ford cars that have been produced. As for this car's handling? I haven't seen anything yet, have you?

The new 2011 Ford Gt apparently doesn't handle that bad unless you think the lap times of an M3 also suck.

As for reliability - BMW is definitely not a more reliable manufacturer. What about cost of maintenance?, parts? etc.

The Ford GT40 was also a pretty good car if I remember correctly.
