Looks great!

Any idea what it weighs after all the work?

How is the width of the R7s compared to other 275s you may have run?

Now weighs 3244 lbs (1/2 tank), so about 3196 (dry).

The R7's are wider near the rim due to thicker rim bead to protect the rim. I had to switch from 5 mm to 10 mm spacers to avoid rubbing on the bead. If you raise the front enough however you can avoid rubbing with 5 mm spacers.

Our cars look alike without the graphics!

Similar track mods too. Perhaps we'll run into each other @COTA.

Definitely run the brake ducts if you can worth while track mod. I have the Bimmerworld Carbon Brake duct/dust shield running 3" hoses to my GT4 Lip.

I plan on running a larger splitter under it. I don't think the GT4 lip and GT4 Canards are enough to balance the GT-250 Wing.

Yes, very similar indeed. I'm considering the brake ducts. The only track that I seem to need it is COTA. I'm hoping the GT4 splitter and canards will be enough. The APR splitter was not. However, It looks like you are running the 67" wing and mine is the 61", so you have much more wing to balance out. Thanks for advise! Hope to run into you some day?

For sure. I'm usually at every COTA DE. Wheels are no longer Neon Green and back to Apex anthracite (which is likely why some guy asked me if I was you in March)

Lol! I liked the Neon Green. Why the switch? I wish I could do more than 1-2 per year but I have a 4 month old and 2 year old now, so it's kind of tough getting away for the entire weekend. I saw that you were running 285/295 R6's from a previous post. Do you mind sharing what size rims and spacers you were using? I'll probably stick with running 275 square but just curious.

I was running Apex EC7 18X10 et25, and 18x11 et25 when I was running 285/295.

I'm now running 305/645-18 all around.

12mm spacer up front since the top of the rim was kissing the spring. I only needed 5mm running 10K springs. Had to go up to 12mm when I put fatter 16K springs up front.

I'm at a crossroads with my existing setup. I can get the car to 2:28 at COTA, maybe 2:27 if I drive cleaner. I'd like to be 2:23 but I don't think I'll get there without more power and less weight. I don't have much more to take out and have a car that I can drive to the track. I'm going to throw some carbon bits at it and see what other parts can reasonably go.

The green was cool, but the heat changed their color. So Gray it is.

Wow! I did not know we could fit 305's. Any mods other than spacers needed for clearance? 2:28 at COTA is an awesome time! I managed a 2:33 my second time there on 275 NT01's with partial interior and half cage. Now that I have switched to R7's and I'm 100 lbs lighter, I'm hoping I can improve my next time there.

I think it depends on your suspension. My perch is below the rim. But the spring is right there. The spacer corrected it.

I'm going to toss a helper in the front and go up to 20k up front and 22k in back.

The car is half stripped right now for weight and for tire transport (I can carry the full set plus a spare) and my track tools.

I may explore some light weight panels, trunk, hood, see if that can get me under 3200 pounds. I'm right at 3280 now. I think if I take anymore out then that's the point of no return. I'm not sure how much more I can get out of this platform without having to go to forced induction or a stroker. Neither of which I really want to do given the cost of stroker or the thermal load of SC.

If I go to the next level on this car I'm committing to it for the foreseeable future which I'm not sure I want to or not.

Makes sense! My perch sits just above the rim so it rubs on the widest part of the tire with 5 mm spacers.

If you are now at 3280 lbs (dry), you still have roughly another 84 lbs you can take out without removing the HVAC. But like you said that would be the point of no return. However, if you also remove the HVAC that will be good for another 50 lbs, putting you right around 3146 lbs. Also, if you installed a Cool Shirt System you could remove the HVAC and still be able to drive your car to the track in the summer. Something to think about.

I'm also opposed to FI because of thermal load and adding even more weight over the front wheels.

Cantrell Motorsports brake duct kit

I installed the Cantrell Motorsports 2.5" brake duct kit, however with 275's and 10 mm spacers there is excessive rubbing, and so I will be installing Turner Motorsports steering rack travel limiter this week. These pics were taken before securing hose to lower control arm with 3 zip ties. I will also post pics of the installation of steering rack limiter.

Info on your front dive planes please. Running a similar set up with 275/35/18 on the Cantrell kit and am having the rubbing issue please keep us updated on the steering rack limiter.

I had a custom brake cooling kit installed, and the fabricator made an aluminum oval insert for the duct hose so that it would be taller/narrower where rubbing would occur and it probably bought a half inch back. I still get rub at full lock though.

I installed Turner Motorsports steering rack limiter (stops) and that took care of the rubbing with installed 2.5" brake duct hose. Turner does not list these on their website, but they are available thru their R&D dept. They are made of delrin and you will need to place in boiling water to get some expansion and use some grease so that they will slide over the steering rack easily.
