I think a dog, even belted, shoudln't be in the front of a car, period. No one would ever argue about putting a child in the front seat because they're safer in the back. But as soon as you tell someone their dog shouldn't be in the front, oh jesus, all of a sudden you're pissing in their cheerios.

If your dog can't keep himself in the back, belt him down. He should be belted anyway. If he still can't handle it, DON'T TAKE HIM IN THE CAR. Jesus man, talk about unsafe driving.

Yes, showing off. Letting the dog walk all over the car, hop up on the door, the dash, your lap, etc. With a watch it's usually don't by letting your arm hang down with your sleeve rolled up so people can see whatever watch you're trying to show off. I see people do it all the time. I made the comparison because when you see people with dogs in their lap or laying on the dash or rear deck they are either stupid, or trying to show off.

Just a thought.
I use a special seat belt for mine always

Besides if I am in an accident the cops would shoot my best friend before they would help me (should I be out like alight).

^^^You're obviously in the minority on the M3 board though. Even with that being your only option I don't know that I would be comfortable doing it, belted in or not.

But that's me.

My guy has only ever ridden in the back seat of our BMW's or the F150 Supercrew.I would not think of ever having him in the front seat.

Our little co-pilot

Our baby is a husky named Twinky. This is his ride home from his puppy sitters while we were out of town. He is riding in his momma's car (e92 335i).

No, but leaving it hanging out the window is so "Icy Hot Stuntaz" it's not even funny. That is of course unless you're a rapper form the South. In that case, floss it.

You guys with the worries about animal safety have taken a nice thread and ruined it with banter about how to properly secure a pup. Ok, the message is noted and please give it a rest. I, for one, just want to see pics of other pups.

Lucy has been in the M a couple of times, mostly on trips to the vet. I would have taken a picture of her in the passenger seat but I didn't want to offend anybody.

its your opinion that its not even funny... for the person choosing to do that its just part of who they are... its an individual expression the same as putting wheels on your car or angel eyes in LED's... or feathers in your ass and calling yourself a peacock...

dont worry as much about what others are doing... worry about enjoyin your ride and your life

I love dogs, but I have to say it makes me cringe to think of putting any animal in my car. Looking at the photos is pretty fun to see all the diff types of dogs, but the animal hair stuck in the carpet, vents, etc... *shudder*.

Jet - black and white springer spaniel - he rides on the center console of my parents yukon (dad removed the factory center console and put a wider flatter box in place so he can lay there) and rides in the back seat of my moms cadillac and when they come out to visit from co he rides in the back seat of my e90 m3 with a blanket down.
