Advice needed: Eibach vs. Swift Spec-R

Did anyone tried out new Swift Spec-R yet?

I am not satisfy with my HR spring since it never settles in sharp turns. The drop is decent though...

Thinking of swap the HR out for Eibach or new Swift Spec-R. I've heard good things about Eibach, comfortable, stock like spring rate, not going to break the balance of the car, ok drop, etc...

By looking at the specification of the newly released Swift Spec-R, linear, Front 279lbs/in Rear 670lbs/in, decent drop.

Just want to ask the suspension guys how will you choose between the two and why.

ps. My car does not have EDC

I would also like to hear people's opinions on the Swift springs...Im debating between these 2 springs too but I'm leaning towards the Swift because of the slightly better drop.

I do have edc and prob be running on 20"s soon too

I'm curious also. I had Eibachs on my last M3 and they were fine, but the drop was too conservative.

I bought swift spec R springs along with Macht Schenell Spacers 15mm/12mm from EAS and had them installed. The spacers definitely improve the look/stance IMO.

The ride is slightly lowered but definitely noticable the minute you get in the car. Ride quality is close to stock but a little tighter which to me is better and my EDC is still fully functional. I definitely feel MORE PLANTED TO THE ROAD which is hard to achieve in an E9x ///M. I am very happy with these springs and spacers. Thanks EAS. Don't be fooled by the front wheel pic. Even though the front still has some wheel gap it is noticably lower by an inch.

I love my swift spec r springs...

Just enough drop for the front and rear. Ride is very compliant with various roads (asphalt or freeway concrete)

I had the Eibachs put on a couple weeks ago. Ride is great and you can tell the difference in body roll, but the drop is VERY conservative in the front (tires are 275/35-18 Michelin PSS).

from the pics (thanks guys!) I can tell that the swift spec-r has similar drop compare to h&r, and eibach really has conservative drop.

I am wondering how does swift perform on track with its linear and stiff spring rate.

1 Redesign lowering ride height to maximize the suspension performance allowing the vehicle to fully absorb road condition for maximum traction.

2 Increase in spring rate to further enhance cornering speed through entry & exit. The increase in spring rate is based on the vehicle factory stock valving settings. Sport Springs Spec-R is increase to the optimal rate that the stock shocks can handle. Higher performance shocks are not required, but recommended for better performance.

H5S.TW

Motorsport's most advanced spring material

Swift made a name for itself on the tracks of Asia, Europe, and U.S. by defying all accepted concepts and speculations about the future, if any, in coil spring science.
When many other company were looking at expensive and brittle titanium composites to create the next evolution of springs, Swift was looking at reinventing the entire science of coil spring dynamics. Swift saw that most others are using the old regular silicone chrome material, which was not strong enough. It used a heat tempering method that damaged the strength of the material that requiring more coils, in turn, more weight.
The material was also suffering from a short life span. With springs like this leading the industries, Swift saw room for improvement.

Swift's R & D team created material, called H5S.TW, which is stronger then regular silicone chrome material. Because of this material, we could make the spring wire thinner, and could wind the springs with fewer coils, which greatly decreased weight while dramatically increasing available stroke.

thanks for the pics guys...
I think when the time comes for me to order my springs Swift might be the way to go for me. I like Eibach products but that drop is to conservative for what I want.

I'm thinking of getting these springs also. I've got AST4100 coilovers with switch springs on my 2010 GTI (which I'm selling since I have the m3 now)...

Was thinking if coilovers again however the m3 I have has EDC so I want to retain it with the use of just the springs...

How does the swift springs do on the track with the EDC shocks? Are the shocks gonna wear excessively? Do the EDC shocks dampen enough? I'm assuming to do it right I need to switch to e36 bumpstops and remove the rear spring pads correct?

We've already installed a number of the Swift springs - one of the best on the market.

Here's pics from an install last week:

We are also an authorized Swift retailer. Let me know if you have any questions.

Do these springs maintain factory travel. If not, how much is it changed?

I've had them for 2 weeks now and factory travel has changed minimally. To be honest my car feels better (tighter) NOT BOUNCY and I my EDC settings have not been affected by the lowering.

Swift will not SLAM your car but your stance will look much better especially after they settle.

If they lower the car, they have reduced factory travel. Only coilovers can maintain travel, because they use shortened struts with adjustable spring perches.

No, they do not. Anytime you lower a vehicle without altering the strut and shocks, the bump/compression travel is reduced. However, spring rates are increased based on the OE strut and damper valving so everything continue to work in harmony and performance is maximized to handle road conditions and fully absorb small and large bumps. Front height is reduced about 1" and the rear about 3/4".

According to Dinan's website, their stage 1 kit lowers the car without changing travel. maybe that's why they are so expensive.
