2003 540iA M-Sport
Fellow enthusiasts, Well, the day has finally come to get rid of the best car I have ever owned. This is the second Sterling Grey/Black '03 M-Sport I have owned, the second being an exact clone of the first. The car currently has 139,xxx miles on it. If you are interested in this car then I probably don't need to tell you what makes it so special. As an enthusiast, I have taken care of every single mechanical issue that has arisen with the car - meticulous is the word. In the last month I have put over $3,000 into it to get it ready for sale which includes a new expansion tank and new painted bumper (as well as underbody panels) so it sits just as beautifully as it did when originally ordered. Sticker price on this car was originally $57,000 and the car was ordered with every option (to include comforts seats) except for DSP. Typical issues plaguing these cars (seat twist, cooling issues, window regulators, vapor barriers, valve covers, timing covers) have been addressed. The cooling system has ~20K miles on it. The only things I have not addressed are the few dead pixels in the dash. There are no dead pixels in the MKIV navi display. The car comes with a Bavarian Soundwerks Stage 1 speaker upgrade, which replaced every speaker in the car with the exception of the mids in the front door, a $560 upgrade before labor costs. The car also comes with a Rockford Fosgate 10" sub and amp in the trunk. It sounds better than the upgraded Logic 7 system in my E92 M3. The car also has an ECS CAI which sounds fantastic at wide open throttle. All three rear windows are tinted. Engine oil has been changed every 7,500 miles with the OEM recommended oil and the transmission fluid was just changed ~10,000 miles ago with redline oil. Car has been garaged almost its entire life, and was used primarily as a freeway commuter. As far as the condition of the car, it's in very, very good condition overall - very little, if any, wear and tear in the interior. There is, however, a slight crack on the wood trim in the passenger side front door. It still smells exactly as an E39 is supposed to smell (never smoked or eaten in). A couple of the wheels have very slight rash, and there are a couple slight door dings that I'm sure could be taken out with relative ease. Also, I think the battery in the key fob is beginning to wear out, so it would need to be replaced soon. I'm hoping to get $10,500 OBO, especially after the money I have put into it. I'm happy to provide you with a Carfax upon request. If you would like higher resolution pictures please met me know. Thanks for looking and please let me know if there are any questions. Thanks, Tom

Definitely my favorite body 5 series and one of my favorite combos. I wish I had a reason to take it off your hands. Good luck with sale and beautiful car!
