Unhappy How long would you wait to file a PayPal claim?

Need some opinions please.

I purchased some items and was told last Thursday they were on their way to ship them. I have had zero contact with the person since. I have tried multiple time to contact this person via text, PM on here, email, and even a phone call with a left vm.

I was told they were on their way to ship but never got confirmation or a tracking number. This is making me crazy! It was a lot of money so it makes me worry that I am getting ripped off. But I can start the process of a PayPal claim.

Should I wait until the end of the week? If they did ship Thursday I should get it by Thursday or Friday.

Thanks for any advice.

Based on these circumstances, I'd file it.

I think I can start the process now and if the item shows up I can cancel the claim.

Yeah file the claim. If the stuff arrives after the claim is processed, I'm sure you won't have to worry about the lack of communication.

Drives me absolutely crazy when it’s so easy to communicate and people don’t!

They tend to learn quickly when you start the PayPal claim.

I know how frustrating "silence" from a seller can be. I found this link on the PayPal site. Hope it is helpful...

Thanks

I can always file a claim on my end as well if things don’t get settled quick enough.

Yup. I had a guy file a claim without even asking me if/when I shipped his part. Turns out, it was delivered the day before he filed the claim. I supplied the tracking# & paypal quickly told him GFY with the bs claim.

I am a pretty fair person when it comes to buying and selling things. All I have been asking for is confirmation and tracking.

Four days is crazy to not even send a text back.

I took it easy on someone because he said he had a death in the family. Then he stopped responding to me. Here I am, 30 days, still waiting. Filed a claim.

Good move filing early i'd say.

What a pain to deal with!

Honestly, if I see any sign of jiggery pokery from the other end, I immediately file a claim. Don't forget funds are released to seller after a period of time, so sitting on it can get you burned.

I have been a seller and I promise you anyone selling in circumstances like this is VERY aware that communication matters. If communication that had been normal and prompt suddenly stops with no explanation then the seller is either stupid, rude, in the hospital or up to no good. I'd file for sure then if the item arrives I'd send him a get well card.

OP, you mentioned that you’ve PM’d the member on here. Tag this member in this thread, give him a chance to clear his name. He’ll respond for sure. Maybe he was involved in Hurricane Florence? Either way, I hope you get the parts or the money back.

This has crossed my mind. Profile says New Orleans and the area code for their number is 832. Their PayPal says it a shoe repair place.

Because PayPal has the buyers back, you’ll get your money back. Just the inconvenience/time it will take to get it back. Would be interesting to see if the seller would reply here.

A Texas number but a NO location. Good call on filing that claim, sir.
