Eventuri Carbon Fiber Intake for S65 Platform

So noticed that Eventuri released an intake for our cars.
Neat looking piece, very OEM-like. Reminds me of the Dinan one I have for my M3. I'm feeling the carbon fiber brake duct area vent, wish that was sold separately so I could add it on along with my Dinan intake.

Found the pics on Reinart Design - RA.Design's Facebook page.

Nice find.

The bumper air duct piece is probably cosmetic, I can't imagine it's better than the OEM piece.

+1 it's most likely cosmetic, but it does look nice!
If i didn't have a Dinan one already I would consider one of these.

Crazy! I was just killing time on their site yesterday and noticed they had a kit for the E46 M3 and E60 M5 but nothing for our car. I wondered why they skipped us. Guess they're making something after all.

Beautiful piece but i can't help but wonder about heat soak if it is open in the engine bay like that? Surely there is a CF cover as well?

I think it's just to show, and it'll either have a CF OEM replacement cover or uses the OEM cover with the vent.

It's rated to make 9hp/9lb ft. over stock so that's not a big claim.

Yeah. I wonder if they will make a CF cover for the stock airbox. Maybe also the option of 1x1 carbon.

The picture just has the airbox without the stock lid to show that the carbon tube extends to the filter and does not use the stock connection.

CF cover for the stock airbox will be a future option. It will not be available in 1x1. Only the same weave as the intake tube itself.

Actually dropped the IAT by 1-2 degrees so therefore increased the performance. Full details will be released next week including data logs.

Take a look at the stock one. Its not perfectly smooth.

the lower piece has a bit of a "dent" in it. not sure why, but a few companies make a more optimized version of it. this is a pic of the m24 version.
the eventuri design looks like an overlay... not sure what good it is going to do. i'd be interested in seeing it by its self, out of the car.

To catch debris and water from shooting straight up into the filter... My guess.

yea, i don't know. it is an open intake design, so its not like it is a huge improvement in forcing air into the filter. maybe just a little more flow. only so much air can exit out of the hood vent, and having a larger front scoop while keeping the exit scoop the same size probably isn't that big of an improvement.

It?s not open intake. As mentioned above, the photo is simply with the cover off.

right. what i was talking about in regards to the "open" design was the oem design. oem is an open style. not open in the way like a mustang just has a cone filter sitting out in the engine bay, but open in the way the airbox vents to the hood of the car. the box is not closed. air enters through the kidneys and lower vent, flows/flushes cool air through the box, the car uses what it needs, and the remaining air flows out through the hood vent.

there may be a benefit to kidney scoops and an optimized lower air duct if the air box was completely sealed. you could potentially be producing pressure inside of the box at speed. but because of the open box design, the effect is diminished.

Might be worth it just to make taking the damn filter/duct off and putting it back on less fiddly, crap design from the factory IMO I have to play "is it in yet" for 5 minutes every damn time with that damn molded plastic duct on the plenum

IIRC when I had the bumper off that duct is just designed that way to leave room to other crap

The hood hole only flows so much, it has about the same cross section as the kidney intake tube leading to the airbox, and it dumps up into a relatively high pressure zone on most cars where the windshield meets the hood, I can see why more flow into the box, especially from the lower intake which is huge and getting relatively high pressure nose air, might help

soooo this post was in early August, what's new?

I've had an Evolve tune on my car for like 80,000 miles, so, not a troll, but I also thought you guys were better than "details will be released next week" meaning "next month" or "never"
