Yes the e36 bump stops only help the shocks from bottoming out often.

However the swifts don't need them but if I was gonna go with RD, H&R or any of the springs that lower the car more I'd contact MRF or Dinan for the shaved guides/mounts along with the e36 bump stops.

Can you buy just the front guide supports? I see they have a kit for an out of this world price of $720. How about just the front guide supports?

...wait. I'm looking up the shaved guide supports and its seems like they're just for shock travel. How would they affect ride height? It's basically just some of the rubber shaved off on the bottom of the top mount...

Again the "the e36 bump stops/ shaved guides & mounts only help the shocks from bottoming out often."

I only suggested this if you are going with springs that lower the car more than swifts. Dinan & MRF all carry OEM ones that are shaved. I highly doubt any of then make their own.

As mentioned by the others below, Shredicus mentioned that they did make a difference in height.

Eh, I thought some of the metal was shaved off of the mount, but I could be mistaken. Honestly the biggest difference is probably the 19s with 35 sidewall

Yes, but THAT much of a difference? My photo has multiple fingers gap while yours seems to have none.

I'll try and get some pics of my car tomorrow. I just lowered mine on Swifts. Currently running 245/275/19s. It's a ZCP car. It's been noticeably lower for me.

Swifts are clearly lower than the stock ZCP springs by a decent margin (my E92 in the review was Comp Pk car). ZCP springs are only 10mm lower than stock E92 springs.

Yes. Do the pictures I posted above appear to be lower than ZCP?

Yes, the key thing though is using spacers to push the tires out more to fill in the gap. Once you do, the gap will be even less noticeable. I ran 255 F / 275 R on my E92, and rears almost scrapped the wheel well. My spacer set-up with 18 F / 15 R. Also, I rocked the ZCP 19s, I think you're on 18s if I'm not mistaken.

Best,

Best,
I'm currently running 15mm spacer in the front in that picture.

If you're riding 18s, and 35 series tires, you're going to see more gap than you should. The stock 18s ride on 40 series tires, and when I had my stock 18s on, with the 18 / 15 spacer set-up, it looked very flush and good.

Correction, on 19s, I had a 15 / 12 spacer set-up actually.

That is correct.

I don't see the point in riding 35 series tires on an 18" wheel unless you are unusually low. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of riding on 18's in the first place?? If you want a smoother ride then 40 series tires will do that better than a 35 series.

My tire size above in the pictures IS a 40 series tire, NOT a 35. I agree with what is being said but mine has a 15mm spacer and is a 40 series tire. This is why I'm perplexed.

My car is in storage but from what I remember those images of your wheel gap seems off. I believe my car, with stock zcp wheels and tires, is about a 1 finger gap in the front and no gap in the rear. I am on e36 bumpstops but that shouldn't make any difference. The only thing I could suggest is bring it to a shop that's done a few of these and have them take a look at it...

Same. Been running the OEM bumpstops with zero issues. As mentioned before, I have called Swift to discuss bumpstops and they mentioned their spring is designed to use the progressive nature of the OEM bumpstop just like the OEM springs do. They said it won't hurt to move to E36 bumpstops but they recommend staying with the ones designed for the shocks.

That was the exact reason for sticking with OEM bunpstops
