Nice to see the car runs, but what's with all the warnings? Is the car running a stand alone?

I don't know if people saw the video, but this was the turbo car ripping on the freeeway... i know the christmas lights are on, i wondered the same thing. i called and asked i think it was because the steering wheel rack isn't aligned, this took place a week ago, so i would have to double check

Wider tires will have more contact surface, therefor more grip. A taller tire will help you get the gear/differential ratio you are looking for.

Wider tires definitely help with lateral grip but the pressure across the contact patch in the same conditions in a straight line does not vary very much, especially in a 20-30mm difference.

One could also argue that you do not put wider tires in the front to aid in braking, but for reducing understeer and increasing grip as the pressure excerted on the tire has more area to move around.

That is a gross oversimplification.

I doubt they will release anything before the next airstrip event.. Most likely will on sale by summer.. Supposely they are creating molds for production

I saw on a different forum they will be running the twin turbo Gintani e90 m3 at the shift sector event this weekend or next weekend (whenever the next one is). Gintani can correct me if i'm wrong... I'm excited to see it perform!

The soft sidewalls is what gives top fuel tires their emmense grip. They collapse and flatten the contact patch as the dragster accelerates.

The example doesnt correlate, at all.

One could also argue that you do not put wider tires in the front to aid in braking, but for reducing understeer and increasing grip as the pressure excerted on the tire has more area to move around.
Tire performance cannot be estimated by coulomb friction. Maximum grip is not as simple as looking at pressure on the contact surface.

At the least, you would have to take a look at a tires normal load sensitivity, an extrinsic property that varies non-linearly with load. And, that doesnt take importatnt things into account like suspension setup, slip angle, slip ratio, cornering and camber stiffness, aligning torques, and so on.

The general convention with tires is that you want to fit the widest tire you can under your fender. Assuming you have the resources available to setup the suspension properly for that tire (and that is a massive if, I will say), you will see an improvement in longitudinal performance with a wider tire.

I will say though, I'd want to change compounds to a sticker tire before trying a larger tire. Picking a different tire is not an easy task.

This car ran great at Shift Sector!

The guys from Gintani can post more info but it performed flawlessly all weekend and in very warm conditions (temps in mid-80's and tarmac must have been 100+). I think half mile traps were mid to high 150's but I don't recall exact numbers.

Alex mentioned they were running the car all the way up to the 8,500 redline! Car sounded incredible also. This is a game changer for sure!

Congrats Alex and Gintani!

Agreed, well said brother, they were hot lapping that car, ran great from what I saw all weekend, impressive.

Also, Alex's M6 is flat out FAST, I'd say probably the fastest E63 M6 in the country, it trapped 167MPH!! Great job guys.

Thank you, it was a pleasure to meet you! Our E90 M3 TT trapped a 157 and we ran it at least 5-10 times each day without any issues. Definitely a huge success!

Thanks! Congratulations on winning the shootout! I was watching your last race and wow was it close!

We are incredibly pleased with how well our TT E90 M3 and SC E63 M6 both ran at Shift S3ctor.

Here is a video of our friend driving the TT E90 M3 for a pass. The video is through Instagram:

Lastly, thank you to the gentlemen at Shift S3ctor for putting together another great event. We cannot wait for the next one!

Great meeting you Charles, and I appreciate the kind words, these guys at Shift-S3ctor work extremely hard at these events, means a lot! The Gintani TT did great, and as far as I know it's the only running TT E9X M3 in the world, that's flat out impressive.

I know, that race against Marcus in the Lab22 car was so much fun and a pleasure to run, he has an awesome E46 M3!

That also has to do with the physics involved with the rotational speed of the tire and resistance to rolling based on size.
