Used to run RE71R on the 18"s, would still be running it if they were cheaper than NT01, or if I needed the points for Bimmer Challenge. After reading Andrie's comparison, it's a no brainer to do NT01 for equivalent grip, especially if they're $300 cheaper ($800 sale).
I'm lazy and change my track wheels tires (black 19" ZCPs + RE71s) before leaving for the event. It's always worked for me until last event at ACS where my ABS went out and I flat spotted my front tires. The ride home was miserable I thought my steering wheel was going to shake loose from vibrating so hard. lol. I need to get with the program like you guys and carry along my track wheels/tires.

Time for a trailer. Then you will just run more aggressive tire and have to rotate mid day anyways.

I would already have one if I had room for it at my house.
When I retire, I plan on having a small diesel motor home with a double trailer for my truck/car and everything I need for a off-road and track trip to different locations throughout the country. Just 15 years to go.

I don't have room I just stuff my open trailer in the garage. Not easy to get in with slope of driveway. Have to drop it part way in then slide it sideways basically to get it up against wall. My car won't leave driveway without ramp I made either.

My truck takes up the whole garage. Won't fit inside on a trailer.

Now that I don't have my 219M wheels bc of an unexpected sale on Monday, I'll be driving to/from track on NT-01s, so it might be good to know when I should call it quits for the weekend and GTFO just before cording. Driving back on corded tires could be in interesting experience.

Edit: Screw cording. Zeus hath forsaken me with this potential rain

I asked my shop if he had some spare wheels so I can bring a drift set of rears on his trailer for last session fun!

I've done the motorhome/trailer gig.

Do yourself a favor and get a truck and toyhauler instead. You will have a vehicle to go run errands, go out to eat, fill and haul gas jugs, etc. and a truck is useful around the house too. Motorhomes are a PITA to maintain compared to even a crew cab diesel dually truck (think 5-gallon bucket for diff fluid change, oil change, etc.). Remember that under our current, insane tax laws you can deduct the loan interest on a travel trailer or motorhome as a second home.

Don't forget that by the time you retire, your body will not be the same as now. I too had dreams of the motorhome, trailer, run all the cool tracks around the country in retirement. Now that I'm ~5yrs from retirement, degenerative arthritis in the neck and a disc issue will preclude that from happening (though I should be able to justify a $$$$$$$$$ feather light helmet -- right?).

i have thought of the same thing... a diesel dually with a gooseneck trailer/flatbed combo. i haven't made much movement towards this thought acknowledging what you stated- my body might not be the same, and my mindset might not be the same. this is something that will be decided later in life.

admranger , are you going to make the short trip over and join us on the 28th at ACS?

So does your M3 sit on the trailer in your garage?

Moi?! Unfortunately no. I'll be sporting some stylish orange kevlar chaps, orange hardhat with ear muffs and face shield, and special gloves while putting up 6-cords of wood on the family farm in N. Kansas. My aunt still heats with wood (we only cut fallen or dead trees), just like the family has done since homesteading the property.

Just picked up this single post tack form mount. Now I know why my videos were so shaky... This mount is tremendously more rigid than my other plastic one.

Cool. That lowercase r is sitting higher than the rest of the letters.

No I wouldn't be able to push my trailer sideways with my car on it. Difficult enough unloaded.
