RemoteKey & SmartTV review...anyone?

I am considering the RemoteKey and SmartTV (also known as TVinmotion) mods, now that the plug and play option is available. I see a few people have installed them...any problems? Would you do it again?

Any and all thoughts are appreciated.

Neither are PnP, but take minimal amount of effort to install.

The modules work best by being completely transparent and making the features feel like they are part of the BMW-offered features, since we're using actual BMW code for the commands given.

We're glad to report that there are zero problems with the modules, these things have been bulletproof since introduction.

What is PnP? and what kinda coding are you actually doing? is there a way to install this stuff with a software update without all of the hardware?

PnP = Plug and Play.

Modules are useful in performing macros (series of multiple commands) that BMW programming will simply not offer. For instance, one-touch windows are available with remoteKEY+, as well as alarm emulation. Modules are also configuravle and can be updated by the end user as new features are released.

Alarm emulation is not available with coding and you are required to hold the key button while the windows are rolling down. Another note to consider is that most convenience programming is at risk of being overwritten by the dealer during updates or reflashing.

Both have their merits, simply know what's out there before making a decision.

Neither item has remote start, or are there any plans for this specific feature.

remoteKEY and smartTV are from the same manufacturer (developed in-house), but control different devices. What is your specific question so I can assist?

Have been looking around at remote start units. Had it on some cars in the past and totally miss it. Gets pretty cold around here so nice to jump into a warm car. Didn't have it on my 335 and realized everytime in the winter how much I missed it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
