Best method to detail under carriage??

Greetings,

What is the best method or way to detail the under carriage and wheels well areas ? I'm thinking a combo of pressure washer (which I don't have) or high pressure hose and some quality car shampoo with brushes?

I've seen some undercarriages recently on the website Bring A Trailer where older generation cars have what looks like some kind of steam cleaning because they look immaculate.

Any ideas or suggestions that people have had success with I would really appreciate.

PS- I posted here for better visibility than the detailing forum, that had only 4 viewers or so

Thank you,
Merlin

Google it. Even better results and post up here with what you find.

What you may be seeing is "cyro blasting" where small dry ice beads are used to blast a surface. The cold freezes the surface layer, and the impact knocks it off. This is becoming the absolute best way to restore barn finds. It doesn't damage paint or rubber with the correct settings.

It doesn't leave water anywhere, it evaporates.

Let's keep this simple.

Jack it up. Remove wheel. Get bucket of hot soapy Dawn. Using a soft brush, scrub around up in wheel well, suspension, brake calipers, etc. Leaf blow dry. Spray tire shine aerosol up around in there (avoiding rotors). Reassemble.

You can also shine up the mufflers and tail pipes and aluminum suspension pieces in the rear to give it some POP from behind.

I don't have photos of my wheel wells, but here's one showing a clean under carriage in the rear.
