Yes, that is true, however your navigation headunit needs to be at the certain software level. If your dealer has never updated your software, it will not work after Combox retrofit.

1. What’s the best way to determine what software level we are at? I’ve been told this before so I’m curious on how to check.

1. I can connect remotely and check if you have coding cable.

2. You can call your dealer and ask about I level

3. You can check it on your own, if you know how to use for example INPA


4. If the software is too old, the dealer can update your car.... I can remotely do it but you will need an ICOM and decent battery charger....

5. You can remove the headunit, ship it to me and I can update it and send it back

As to the software level - I believe if you car was programmed at least in 2011 you should be good, if it was never programmed once it left the factory prior 2010, it probably no work.
