Swamp... 56,500.... I dunno....do I win?

Most definitions I have seen say MSRP does not include destination...

I think not only did I call the bet early but I think I lost as well. Ugh. I will try to find our original clarification of the bet. . It's all good though - we both win.

So is Logic7 the base audio? If not, do we get it in ZTP or ZPP?

The regular leather option should be $1000 (it is not listed in the OP post) and not $1450, as the standard seats already are around 50% leather... let me ask my dealer to be accurate.

No, base audio is #676 Hi-Fi 10-speaker w/ vehicle specific equalizing; #677 is Logic7 w/ 13 speakers & DSP; Enhanced Premium Sound (aka Individual High-end Audio) is #752 w/ 16 speakers, high end amps, cooling, unique grilles. Looks like we don't have the option for Logic7 here, which sucks.

On my E46 I did a DIY and replaced my speakers, amp and added a 12" subwoofer. That was a hella day of work. Parts cost me ~$800, all ebayed, mostly a/d/s. It sounded great until the amp died (I didn't mount it with enough ventilation, it was in the trunk below the trunk floor). I had one of the "better" local shops put a new amp in. I had to teach them how to adjust the gains to avoid hissing and I still have a slight ground loop. I'm afraid to drill a new hole to ground it and fix it.

If you live near a good audio shop, bless you, but I'm screwed. Oh, and my speakers "fit" but now the doors squeak ever so slightly because they're clipped a bit off tolerance according to my dealer.

Moral of the story -- aftermarket is only good with qualified people. I'm not one, and it seems that no one else in New Orleans is either.

I envy people who live near a shop that knows what they are doing.
Perhaps I'm in the minority here, but I appreciate that the M3 comes standard with the analog HiFi instead of the digital Top HiFi (Logic7) just because it is the easiest to upgrade -as easy and straight forward as the E46- and no so expensive to do. Wheels and audio system are the first two things that are replaced from any new car of mine before hitting 5000 miles, so I appreciate a low base price instead of paying for standard equipment that I'm going to replace anyways.

However, I do also think that BMW should offer the Top HiFi as a mid-OEM sound option too, for those customers that $1900 for an audio upgrade is too much and that are not so inclined to upgrade themselves the standard audio system, much less send their car to an audio shop to spend more than the Premium sound to make it sound decent... and end up having OEM warranty issues...

OK. Let us know what you find out. I don't bother calling my dealer because he is really clueless. I supply him with all the relevant info in general.

Is there a gas guzzler tax, and if so, is it included in that price?

For those wondering about the Individual Audio option, it's DEFINITELY worth it. I have it in my 08 M5 and it's a stunning difference over the HK system in my old 05 M3. Without a doubt worth the $1,900 price of admission.

So, am I correct that my 335Xi Coupe with ZPP has a better standard stereo than the base M3?

If, so then I pretty much have to go forward with the Enhanced Premium Sound. I only have a few days, if any, to change my order.

You guys are lucky. The M3 costs £53,000 basic in Britain - nearly twice as much as you guys pay.
They screw us to subsidise the price for you.

Examples for the coupe. To compare price properly, our version of sales tax or local tax is called V.A.T. or Value Added Tax. The rate is 17.5% and is included within the following prices over here (converted to U.S.D.)
Sat Nav Pro - $3,700
Dakota leather - $2,450
Comfort Access - $800
Transport from Germany to Britain (not really the same distance as the States) $1,000
I could go on but it would make me sick.

An M3 with most of the good stuff would cost about $114,000 here so think yourselves lucky!
