NorCal Rod Bearing service?

Hi new here recently got a e90 m3 just want to know if anyone here in the SF Bay Area that does rob bearings? Or know anyone that does it? I’ve did some research but those post were long time ago so just want to make sure they are still doing it.

Thanks

SV Bimmer did my BE bearings / ARP bolts. There were running a $2,000 special earlier this year (includes engine mount installation). You should hit them up and see if they're still doing it.

I'll be looking into doing mine soon too - SV Bimmer is close by to me so I may go with them. Let me know if you decide to go with them, maybe we can get some kind of deal if we bring both our cars to them

I've been looking to get mine done for quite some time and even considered driving southbound to get them done. I'm in the Stockton area and been lurking on the forums for a shop in the Bay Area. Let me know as well and maybe we all can work out a deal with a shop.

I did mine at Sonic MS in san jose a few months ago. They were pretty good, I'd recommend them, and they had the best deal, pretty sure there's a thread with the special on here somewhere.

for those in the bay area that don't know, the two BMW master technicians, whos work built Performance Technic's reputation, opened their own shop VT Motoroworks in Pleasanton. So while there shop is new, I have been working with these guys for years. They built and maintain my V8 1series, a dozen of my friends street and track cars and are building my new rallycross 1series. Both owner/techs are bmw factory trained techs and can maintain your car with the same knowledge and care as a dealer tech. They also have all brand new state of the art equipment and tools. They are very professional, transparent and affordable. I live in SF and drive an hour to VT, past many other shops, because the work and service is that good. But to be honest, If I went to every shop in the bay area and said build me a v8 1series that looks and operates like a factory car, 95/100 would have said "we cant do that" and 4/100 would have tried, gone over budget and time and likely end up failing, and only the VT guys would handle it.

I had Sonic do my bearings as well but the experience was not good.
1) Mechanics showed up 40 min late to work while I waited to drop my car off
2) Could not get anyone on the phone at all at anytime. Looking at recent Yelp results, this is a major problem for them for months. Many 1 star reviews just due to communication.
3) Could not get a response if my car was done. Took at least a day to get a status update.
4) Did not complete all the work requested. Looks like they ran out of time but I just wanted to pick my car up at that point. Sonic had my car 2 more days than planned (was to be done in 2 days but I couldn't talk to anyone to ask questions).
5) A couple days later a bracket came loose. I contacted them about the issue but no reply from the shop so I just took it somewhere else to get fixed.
