Have two kids 8 and 10. Drive an e90 m3 for past 8 years, and mom had a Outback and now getting a xc60. we both dislike SUVs, but we wanted a PHEV, and few BMW options except the x5 which is huge. We loved the v60 wagon though - it drove much better than the SUVs. I'm sure the e90 wagon would have been good as well. Ultimately, my advice is to get her the car she'll feel comfortable driving. Sell the 740 and use that to swap up to a larger car.
