I replaced mine at 151k miles! I’m not sure if they were replaced before but it’s possible since the car does have higher mileage. My car went into limp mode and it would drive like a Prius. I went to replace my throttle actuators with @Abdul at Euro Parts Palace. You can read about my experience here:
https://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1945641 I would highly recommend going with Euro Parts Palace. They provide a lifetime warranty and amazing customer service! Even though they were backordered at that time, Majdi and Abdul always kept me updated on when I would expect to receive the product. Once I returned my cores back to them, they also refunded me the same day without any hiccups. It’s a no brainer - go with Euro Parts Palace (formerly M Power Motorsports)! |

I just replaced mine at 73k miles. I didn’t have any issues but I wanted to get it done for preventive maintenance and peace of mind.
I went with Euro Parts Palace’s re-manufactured actuators. Going with their units made the most sense as they have upgraded gears and lifetime warranty. I had a great experience with them as shipping was fast and core exchange process was painless. On top of that they had excellent communication. Definitely recommend! |

New E90 M3 owner here in Pennsylvania with 88k miles. No previous history of my throttle actuators being replaced. I just replaced them from Euro Power Motorsports based off of the feedback here. Great service and car is running fine. Majdi was great on the phone. Highly recommended.

Lurker for the most part, but I figured I contribute with my personal experience. I have a 2008 E90 M3 and the original throttle actuator failed at 73800 miles and went into limp mode. System error code 2B16 (Throttle value controller bank 2).
I went with the popular recommendation and ordered from Euro Power Motorsports. Ordered on 11/5 and shipped on 11/28 due to shortages. Install was straight forward with tips from the forum and youtube videos. Took about 2 hours to pull the original actuators and about 1 hour to install. I dropped a bolt into the engine bay when pulling out one of the actuator which took a while to find... Overall, a good experience with Euro Power Motorsports and no problems so far. Thanks to everyone on this forum! |

I have only replaced the rear TA. Think it’s bank 2? That one went around 160,XXX if I recall correctly. My bank 1 TA is original still at 244,XXX. I bought the failed one new and sent my failed original back for repair. I’m sitting on it. I recall getting a multitude of errors because of the failed actuator. Hill assistant, trans error, ABS errors, etc… I would turn the car off and on at first and all would go away. After a few weeks it became unclearable via off/on or KD-can & software. This was when I was driving my car a lot. Always came on right at startup and not much when driving. I haven’t replaced the original for science lol, I wanna see how far it will go. Car is a 2011 E92 M3 ZZP built in 10/2010 fwiw.

Failure. From time to time engine went into limp mode, and I was able to clear the code and engine ran fine for a few weeks. After about 3 months of this the engine went into permanent limp mode. I got rebuilt actuators from Abdul and things have been fine since then.
