2M Autowerks Carbon fiber roof GROUP BUY

🏁 E90 Carbon fiber roof GROUP BUY 🏁 $1795 🏁

We at 2M Autowerks are in the process of manufacturing our own E90 carbon fiber roof.

Some of you guys might know that we have been making roofs for quite a few years. We currently make carbon roofs for the E36, E46 (coupe and sedan), F82, F87, Z3 M Coupe. We manufacture everything here in the US. Nothing overseas!

Retail after the group buy will be 2K/ea but to kick this off we would ONLY need 5 buyers to finalize and lock in this price point.

All roofs are made by vacuum infusion with your choice of 1x1 or 2x2 weave in either gloss or matte finish. All roofs are clear coated with PPG UV protection clear then wet sanded cut and buffed/polished and sealed.

No price difference with any option you'd like. Current estimate build time to complete all 5 is approx 10-12 weeks.

We just need 5 to fullfill this group buy.

1. Ace Damaso 2x2 (PAID)
2. Andre Wellesely 2x2 (PAID)
3.
4.
5.

If you'd like to join in please chime in the comments or message me directly. We are based in San Diego and can also do the install for 2k.

Cheers!!! 🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁

Pictures are from our F82 carbon roof and the mold picture is from our E46 mold as a reference. Thanks for the support everyone!

(We are also currently doing a F80 carbon roof group buy...posted in the F8X group)

Interested, but would love to hear from folks with first hand experience given the structural nature of the part…

How many layers?

What do you mean structural nature? When installing a cf roof the outer sheetmetal skin of the car is removed. Has nothing to do with anything structural. The actual inner structure is not removed.

Carbon roofs are vacuum infused with the visible layer of 3k carbon. Then backed with 2 more layers of 12k carbon. This is what makes the roofs the exact tolerance of oem standards and same thickness basically. The “more carbon” doesn’t necessarily make it better. If you simply go off the more layers the better…the ln you’ll end up with an overweight part and overly thick product that won’t sit/fit well.

Wish y’all had carbon parts for the e92; would’ve been a nice option vs ordering from Latvia.

Although, there are some incredible composite shops in Eastern Europe.

Nice option for e90!

I would be interested with more info on the install. I looked for a thread but don’t see one. I think the front and rear glass have to come out and then it’s fairly straightforward to remove the steel roof and sunroof mechanism. My question is whether the old headliner can go back up with the fabric cover on the sunroof in use for aesthetics or whether that would lead to a hole in the headliner to address. Does the car throw a code if it doesn’t recognize a sunroof motor installed?

Jeez Louise I loathe sunroofs.

The best video I’ve seen is the evolve video on their G81. A, B, C pillars and headliner out, if sunroof car remove the cassette, front and rear glass out, drill with spot weld bits or use a spot weld sander to get all the spot welds, get through the seam/body sealer and remove the metal panel. If sunroof car you’ll have to have the supports welded in if a slick top they are already there. Prep surface, test fit carbon roof, lay body adhesive and install roof. Let it cure and then reinstall glass and all parts. That’s the the process I’m going to use. I’d be interested in this roof if I didn’t already have the Karbonius one sitting here….

1) remove front/rear glass
2) drill out roof spot welds
3) remove sheetmetal roof
4) install carbon roof with 3M panel bond
5) install front/rear glass
6) enjoy the 50+ lbs of savings

Car will not throw a code.

Bump for a great seller/installer. They just did a carbon roof for me and it turned out fantastic.

It was on my E46, not my E90. My E90 is a slicktop already. This took the E46 down to about 3050 lbs.
