Paint Correction worth it for AW car?
Is it worth spending the extra money for paint correction process on an alpine white car? I've had my car for almost 2 yrs and haven't gotten a detail yet. Just wondering if I should get paint correction while I'm at it.

Polishing a car is considered 90% of the detail. When you just wash, clay and wax the car you're only enhancing the condition of the paint while when you polish a car and than apply the wax, it has a clean fresh new surface for the wax to adhere and bond to. So when you wash, clay, polish and wax a car you'll be more than stunned with the results and condition of the paint.

I'm considering the same process. I have developed some swirls from 20 months of ownership. I take care of the car well, but it definitely needs a polish.

simply put yes!!!
your car no doubt has built up some oxidation over the time, is dirtier than you think, and lacks overall gloss! there is no down side to getting the car detailed! |

it really depends on what it needs...could be simple like wash/clay/polish/seal or complex with wash/clay/compound/polish/polish/seal
never know until I see it in person. its usually 250-300 |

YES!
It makes ur car look brand brand new. Not kidding! Just me tho. I usually take it to my guy once a year! No matter how careful i am, there's bound to be swirls, scratches and etc. Ed Lin

Well, I've got 18,000 miles now and my paint still looks pretty good to me. But it's time to go and do the works, including paint correction. I'm interested to see how much of an improvement I'll see on a AW car.

Yea man. You'd be surprised by the condition new cars come in. There's a guy on Autopia who works on a lot on Ferrari's coming in from the factory to the dealership, they're in TERRIBLE shape. Brand new cars can range from near perfect to absolutely wrecked.

There was a member on here whose brand new M3 I did a new car prep on...had to compound 7 scratches out on a NEW car, then polish the whole thing, then paintwork cleaner, then sealant...7 hours later it looked a lot better, more gloss, more clarity! |

White is one of the few colors you can get away with not detailing right away. If my car was AW, I wouldn't spend big $ on a detail until it accumulated serious swirling. A few big scratches at delivery isn't enough IMO to do a full detail. I've done around 10 AW E9x M3's and the results are nice but not mind-blowing like a black or gray car.
A black car is a different story altogether. |
