Microfilter due - question

So, BMW reccommends the microfilter(s) be replaced every two years. Obviously, this is an easy fix and and I can save $150 so I will be doing it myself. However, since the car only has 19k miles, should I just open it up and replace if they are dirty or just replace regardless?

Visual inspection isn't a good indicator. Some of the particulates are of course microscopic. I'd just replace it.

Roger that... Seemed like the logical thing, 100 bones from GetBMWparts so probably just a no brainer to swap out.

Are these things just keeping the cabin air clean or do they have magical powers of some sort?

If the car only has 19k miles, can't you get the dealer to replace under warranty?

It's not a warranty issue. His car is a 2008 so it's likely out of the free maintenance period.

There is also the Mann replacement filters if you are looking to save some money. They are 1/2 the OEM price.

The filters clean the air coming into the cabin. They do get clogged over time and reduce the efficiency of the heating/cooling system. It also keeps the air you breathe clean so it's well worth replacing as scheduled.

My bad, I'm working off the Bimmer Post app.
