My 08 M3 has the very old 080ee firmware so I have to update everything first before I can get a tune... so i have to go to the dealer to update all the systems... 6 hour job.

No need, ESS will provide a file to update along with your tune.

6 hours? Wow, to do what exactly? Took me less than an hour (I want to say about 10 mins but it has been a while) to update from 190E to 241E.

Be curious as tho what the dealer is updating. Are there other modules in the M3 that require firmware updates?

I update all the car modules take 90 minutes and 241e in. 125€ cost. New firmare dct parking sensor navi and others.

They updated al other modules (13)
A few more options were added in the I drive, and it seems the rain sensor is better calibrated.

Dealer did not recommend only the dme update.
It was €148,- euro for all modules

Evolve told me, I had send them the dme memory file.
They said it was not possible to do the update remotely because the firmware was to old.

Hmm... That is something I did not know was needed. How does one know what needs to be updated?

Its rare for a car not to have seen updates in 10 years. Can be done by independent with autologic in ~30 minutes.

Quick question: Is it safe to use stock cats for ESS DME that has been tuned to catless x pipe? I need to pass emissions test so I will be running this setup for a while.

It's fine. You'll need to return to the stock tune in order to pass emissions.

Hey Tom. I sent an email to ESS 7 days ago. No response! I recently purchased a 2013 E92 M3 that has the ESS Tune, and wanted to know what the car has on it. Any help would be appreciated. Thx!

Has this tune been tweaked or updated in the last year or two? I've had the tune for a while and wasnt sure if their is anything new

Nothing groundbreaking unless your specific configuration has changed significantly within the last couple of years.

Happy to report the tune has been very reliable with catless x pipe + eisenmann race rear after multiple track days. Good power in lower rev range too, unlike the stock tune which would sometimes bog in 3rd gear.
