Center console extra storage solutions?

I'm new around here, but I've been looking for the right E90 to join the club. I finally had a chance to check out a 2011 M3 in person this weekend, and realized the downside that you all probably already know: There's not much center console storage!

In my 06 Acura TL, I'm used to dropping my wallet, phone, change, random post it notes, receipts, change, etc. in the pair of cupholders behind the shifter. The E90 I saw just has the cubby in front of the shifter, and it was half taken up by the 12v power outlet as well, you could hardly get a deck of cards in there! Do you all have any neat solutions for extra storage that don't involve self-tapping screws or JB weld?

Of course obvious solutions are:

1: Get a single hump car with a cubby where the iDrive controller goes
2: Drive with less stuff
3: Put things in the door pocket. That would work, just a little less convenient than I'm used to.

My two solutions were to replace the ashtray with a Induktiv wireless charger and remove the iPhone dock in the center console and replace with a storage tray.

How painful is that swap? Do you have to pull the center console off to get the old tray out, or does it just pop out from the top?

Very easy, you'll get it done within 30 minutes taking your time. You just pop off the center trim and unscrew the ashtray.
