I've had his tune on my car (08 6MT) for 6 months now and the car freaking rips. no issues at all. Launch control is awesome; even better, I can get 20+ MPG on the highway if I want, and get 18+ mpg mixed driving.

Overall, you can't beat this deal. Thanks Alex!
Thank you
Alex,

Is it possible to get some details on DCT tune? How is it developed, how is it different from GTS tune? Is it safe to transmission long term? What are the pros and cons?

Thank you
Please go read the DCT thread
I read it. Does this tune result in accelerated wear of clutch packs or other transmission components?

Thanks

I just got the tune. No complaints at all as far as the motor tune and the DCT flash. I remember reading that after the DCT flash/tune that the trans would remember the last setting when in the D mode. Mine always defaults to 2 bars lit. I always drive on 4 (Bars) when I am in D. Also with the items sent am I able to flash back to stock myself or do I have to get in touch with Alex.

It will revert to two bars, it is normal. I would assume Alex gave you the files as he did with me and others. It's easy to change back if you can remember the steps. If not Alex is real helpful. Welcome to the world of tuned M3's. To give you guys an idea of what 40hp will do: My Stage 2 tuned DCT E93 is faster than a completely stock E92 6MT from several different speeds including from a start, 40mph start, 60mph start. The tune made up for the 350lb weight difference. Stage 2 is a must have. Congrats and enjoy.

saw my car yesterday and heard it for the first time with new test pipes
also having spark plugs and Alpine stage 2 motor tune, the response feels more crisp
get it done people and people say they get headaches from the exhaust fumes....that smell is nostalgic, living in a developing country, feels like home really

Is it possible to have all smog readiness monitors pass inspection with a stock exhaust and stage 1 tune? Will I have to revert back to stock tune to pass readiness?

I got no files! I will reach back out to him. Maybe I just got him on a bad day (We all have them). I can tell the difference with the shifts and power. May I am just use to switching maps/tune with the push of a button with my EVO.

Is the Stage 2 tune any different from the Stage 1 tune, other than suppressing the CEL? As in, are AFRs or ignition or any other component tweaked based on the hardware changes to the exhaust?

I'm looking at starting with your stage 1 with DCT/Servo/MDM, etc. Looks like $800 total, is that right?

Should be less then that. Yes the Stage is more aggressive/different. You can price it out here

93 octane map!

Long time in the works (literally Jan 2017 when I first started talking to Alex about this), but finally moved cross country this week.

We have 93 as Premium pump gas here on East Coast instead of 91 on the West Coast. I've been waiting 18 months to finally update the ECU and map to 93 octane.

We were able to do so today. My M is just a beast now. Way more power than I know what to do with for these roads. It feels like the low end torque has increased even more, and as early as 3k rpm I was feeling a noticeable difference over 91 octane. I daily my M3 and use M mode plenty, so I am extremely sensitive to these changes and how much throttle I normally give in certain locations. Crazy fun.

Alex also again helped out with a start up glitch, where my dumb Mac wouldn't recognize the cable. Alex knew exactly what to look for to fix it. I honestly am amazed when I watch him troubleshoot these things. Dude is just ridiculously smart and a huge asset for us here.

Still highly recommend this tune if you haven't already. It's absolutely worth it.

I've driven for about 100 miles on stage 2. I haven't really pushed it yet since I'm relearning my drive heights for my car since I placed it on airlift suspension, scraping my front lip and whatnot. I'll see either Monday, Wednesday-Friday being at the shop for a dyno. I thought I would be okay with the cat smell since it feels like I live back in the Philippines with all the smoke/pollution smell. But I might just have to weld back in the 2ndary cats just for the smell but after the dyno
