Looking for Cool Baby Seat

I have e90, red interior, silverstone. My kid is not old enough for the Recaro so that's out. Any ideas? Pics please.

we're using the Orbit system for our second child, works well and is nicely made, much easier to load with a rotating seat. downside, pricey.

IMO these are the coolest looking seats. Very simple and colorful. Fits perfectly in the back of the E90 (under the headrest so no need to remote it) and reclines too. Very functional. I have the Frisbie one and it looks sweet in my SSII/black. Check them out and the colors here:

Very popular in Europe.

No brainer. If I had a child, he/she would get nothing else but this...

I dunno about these recaro seats, but I got the Britax Marathon for the M3 coupe after a long search. I already had them in two of our other cars and they seem to be the most secure (i.e., carseat doesn't move at all when secured). This is probably the most versatile.

I only thing I did not like about the Recaro Young Sport was that it only harnessed up to 40lbs. Then after that you had to use it as a booster with the bmw's seat belts.

The next one was the Sunshine kids Radian80 which will harness up to 80lbs. BUT, with that seat I couldn't secure it tight enough in my SUV so I didn't even try it in the M3.

When I was looking for a carseat for the M, it came down to the Recaro and Britax. I got another Britax (well I had 2 already). The buckling system and the one piece cover (2 piece for Recaro YS), higher harnessed weight limit were pluses. One feature that I'm sitll not sure about is the SIP (side impact protection) which is better on the recaro, but then your child may not like it if he/she wants to look around.

I have the Radian 65 and they are great. Also, it folds up so it fits in the trunk with the top down. See thread and pics. Don't forget the cover to protect the leather.

It is a matter of opinion. I agree it is not "cool" to have a child seat in the car if you are out cruisin around town on a Saturday night, but a few years ago (before kids) I saw an E46 M3 Cab and the guy driving it had a 2 or 3 year old boy in the back, and the kid looked like he was having the time of his life. I was completely jealous that this guy had a fast car to rip around in whenever he wanted, and if he needed to be with his family he could still be father of the year while having the joy of driving his M.

I will be the first to admit that the child seats are not in my car unless they are occupied. However I would take a cruise with my kids through the countryside on a sunny weekend over "cruising" saturday night with the guys anyday.

Get a Recarro seat from Speedware Motorsports. You won't regret it.

I don't the BMW F1 seat is available in the US. I asked Circle BMW (where I get some stuff from time to time) and they don't sell in the US.

I used to do that with my daughter in the E46 M3 cab I had. She absolutely loved it, what a car.

Car seats may dilute the image to some people but screw 'em, I love seeing people indoctrinating little ones early into the culture...

Anyone has a pic of the Recaro installed in the rear facing position, preferably in an E90? My boy is almost 9 months is already close to 30" which is the limit on my Peg Perego infant seat. I will have to get a convertible seat for the next few months.

Right now, I am hesitating between the Radian 65 and the Recaro Signo. I believe they will both fit fine in the forward facing position. Not sure about the rear facing though. I am 6'3" so the driver's seat is pushed back a bit.

Thanks

My kids' seats stay in the car 24/7.

The luxury of a sedan. Not quite the same with the cab.

I've got the same setup in my 325i (Radian 65 in Granite, black seat protector) that will be installed in my M3 after delivery. Works great and the kid is always happy/safe back there. We'll see how she likes the ride in the M3 vs the 325i though.
