Baby ///M
Ok, here we go. after a long stint with few different M cars, mainly M3's, i have decided to try something different. Have for a while wanted to venture into the turbo territory and found 135's quite enticing but the fact that it wasnt an M car as well as the resale value being poor, I got lucky and scored myself a 1M.
in short, these are like 135's on steroids, with wider arches, E92 M3 suspension and brakes, and twin turbo power. Best of all manual transmission. these were made in 2011 and 2012 and 300 were delivered to Australia, so makes them quite rare to come across. (before you shout at me for not getting another M3, i actually did buy an E92 M3, white, BBS wheels, and after aggreeing on price, the seller took a higher offer the next day. worse of all, after we agreed i said would you like a deposit and he said, nah ill hold the car for you. year right haha). I have had the 1M for under a week and so far i am absolutely loving it. the torque it makes in low rpm is phenomenal and it means you can have fun without ringing the neck off it. Have a few plans for it, mainly good detail and wheel refurb. then maybe look at a few power mods, such as downpipes, intake, tune and maybe intercooler. anyways here are a few crappy pics! |

Nice! My brother in law has a white one too. A little beast!
He says same stock clutch as M3 that can handle being supercharged but struggles with the low end torque of the turbo. Interior is also more special with the stitching and alcantara. Look forward to seeing it. |

i was quite cautious as these are known for snap oversteer lol. tyres helped keeping it on the black stuff. i am still getting used to the massive low rpm torque so didnt wanna be silly and bin it. ive done plenty of M3 trackdays so can drive it way harder as im used to it. they are very different animals and i love them both haha

Is it stock otherwise ?
Im thinking about getting mine on track in the future, not sure what changes I need to make in prep (def new front tyres and rear brakes!). By the way the white M3 you didn't get, did that have black wheels/roof and it was in Perth? |

I'd recommend a decent brake fluid to prevent cooking the brakes as well. Hmm had carbon roof and 18" bbs wheels (gunmetal colour). Yeah it was a Perth car. In mt Hawthorn |

nah dont think that was the car. those were black wheels from memory and looking at the crash pics. could be wrong.
depending how hard you use your brakes. barbs is pretty hard on them and if you are planning to do more than just a single event, id be putting something better in personally. |

It had fresh fluid put in the day before I bought it , maybe Ill try it out and see how it goes from there ? What you use ? Also threadjacking but what front tyres you reckon ? Fronts seem to last forever so I dont mind getting something that wont last as long but will provide better grip on road and track. I have 275/35 pss on rear |

These cars chew through the rear, and as much as I need the grip becoz of the SC , I also dont want to be replacing rears every 12 months. Feel free to put me on the right track if I am wrong regarding mixing brands front and rear ? |

Still loving this little pocket rocket! the insane amount of low end torque makes it so fun.
Done a few little maintenance items that have really given it a boost in power. it feels quite a bit more responsive and the acceleration is more aggressive. at 113,000kms i have had the carbon build up taken care of. Usually the common method is to get it walnut blasted. I was bored one day and just wanted to see how much build up there was on my car especially not knowing if it had ever been done previously. Well there certainly was carbon build up but didnt look as bad as i have seen online. i decided to give it a shot by hand. basically using carby cleaner and variety of brushes etc... came up really good. doesnt leave it shiny and new lookin as walnut blasting does, but it has taken the carbon off the valves and ports which is the main thing. it does take quite of a bit of time which is annoying haha. also had new spark plugs and ignition coils done. the car is running great and feels noticeably stronger than before. Getting her detailed next week and also hopefully getting the wheels refurbished. Still happy with stock power but i am sure a tune will be coming soonish. Few pics [url=https://postimages.org/][/ Also installed some gloss black grills and a bmw performance carbon spoiler (jbspeed). |

Few updates
Finally after 48 days on jack stands the car is back on the road. Ordering parts and getting wheels painted during Xmas and NY time isn’t a good idea haha Couple of things happened in that time. Wheels refurbished, at Briffa engineering VRSF downpipes installed Yet to instal the catless midpipe (n54 turned into n55 mid pipe) Also waiting for the lowered springs to arrive anyday now. Front bumper resprayed , thank you Owen. Also sold my daily E46 coupe for something a bit bigger, E39 530i |
