Two stages of turn signal. Does your car have that?
I remember when I first got the car, there were two stages of turn signal. If you push it past the trigger point, the signal would stay on until either you make the turn or you flick the signal the other way. The second stage is when you simply flick it without going over the trigger point, in this case, the turn signal would stay on for three seconds or so, which is great for a lane change.
However, sometime during one of the software update, my car seems to have lost the second type, right now, when I flick it, it would only flash it once, that's it. Is this a setting I need to ask the dealer to re-enable? |

No, you don't need the dealer. Assuming you have iDrive, go into the setting menu and under "Vehicle" there should be an option to turn on/off the triple blink which you are speaking of.

You don't need iDrive to do this. Push the "wheel" on the turn signal stalk until the SET menu comes up in the instrument panel. Find the "two arrow" symbol (looks like <- ->) and set it from there. Consult your manual for details.

Note: car must be turned on (engine running) and stopped (not moving) in order to access this function.

My Corvette and the newer GMs have it as well. As mentioned it along with alot of options can be changed through the turn signal stalk including locking and lighting features.
