Please Help ! Sport Plus program question

I just took delivery of my 2011 M3 coupe and I have a question. I have competition package and a 6 speed manual but I did not get Tech package with MDrive. Am I reading correctly that you can access "Sport Plus" ONLY thru Mdrive interface ? When I hit the Power button I know I am in Sport and I can obviously turn EDC all the way up manually. My dealership is saying that since I dont have Mdrive I need to turn DSC off as well when SPort and EDC is engaged to be in Sport Plus ??? Is this true ??? Sounds off to me because I though DSC had to do with stability control and Sport and Sport Plus had to do with accelaration

Sounds like you've got a creative dealer there. I didn't get the extra gadgets either. You have one "power" option, which merely remaps the throttle response, and it has nothing to do with the EDC setting.

Your SA/CA or whatever is an idiot.

No Technology Package, no M Drive. No M Drive, no Sport Plus throttle, no MDM, no sport steering effort.

Don't worry, the Sport Plus setting is too squirrelly anyway, it's only an agressive throttle map, it doesn't give any extra power. I used it for a while just for fun and have not turned it on for months Power is the best setting for aggressive driving and normal is good for sedate city driving and all out track driving where smoothness on the throttle is important. Although there will always be a variety of opinions, I've read many posts that concur with this.

MDM on the other hand is a very good intermediate step between total traction control nannying and flying off the road backwards saying "WTF?????"
