The diff

I've got an 08 and this is the story. I'm driving yesterday and at around 70mph i hear this knocking like a high pitched whine with a like tin can clunk? I pull over to investigate and when i tried to start moving again it jerked forward and would move. I so i looked under the car and nothing seemed out of the norm other than the exhaust was soaked and the diff was leaking

. rear tires would not move.
What could it be?
Is it the diff?
How long does the repair for the diff usually take?

oh no... Let's hope the diff is not damaged.
But it will take about a week to repair; maybe sooner. Good luck

Did you check the diff mounting points to the subframe ..from what you described it sounds like the diff maybe damaged hopefully just a simple diff oil change..b/c swapping the diff is a big expense..GL

took the car the dealership replace the entered differential. thank god for warrentys
