Clicking/clunking from rear - SOLVED
Hello everyone,
In the Past couple of weeks the car developed sort of a clicking/clunking sound from the rear of the car, it is a 6spd. I Can only hear it when slowly reversing or accelerating from a stop. I've seen a few threads discussing this issue but none actually making a clear determination as to what these sounds are a resultant of. I've seen from my research that it could be one or multiple of the following: diff, heat shield, driveshaft, guibo, cv axle, etc. I've added a video to hopefully narrow down on what it could be. If it is the DS, I figured I'd just go with a carbon one-piece, but want to save until next year to get one. (recently purchased my first home) don't want to spend the money on the M currently as it is not the daily driver. But if I wanted to go on a spirited a drive or two would I be risking harm to any other components? Hopefully you can hear over the exhaust https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ujG...ew?usp=sharing Last edited by Macpsi; 10-28-2020 at 09:35 AM.. |

This can be closed. Little bit of an overreaction. Definitely is something in the dust shield causing this. Determined by pushing the car with it off back and forth and I could locate the sound coming from the wheel. Moderators this thread can be closed...
