Nooo I also have new 359s and I was thinking about ceramic coating them but then I was like it will be too much of work and it is not worthy. But as I saw your post I will need to do it also.. Thank you! Btw do you plan to coat them every season? Good job!

Since your 359s are also new, do not think about it, just do it. I used Mother's CMX Surface Prep (sprayed and then wiped with a microfiber towel, it couldn't be easier) and then applied the ceramic. I am pretty sure that in the long run I will get back the time I invested, by spending less time when washing them. As per your question, I used the UV Graphene Ceramic Coating by Adam's which is supposed to be good for 7+ years, and I did two layers. If what I read about this product is 90% true, and given I do very low miles with the M3 (AKA my garage queen), I hope they will be good for years. The whole idea for the project was that 359s are stunning, but hard to keep pristine, so anything that makes them easier to clean is worth a chance... PS Many people find the UV functionality of the specific coating to be just marketing gimmick, but this was not the case with me. I did my best not to cover the two lips where the balancing weights go, but inspection with the UV light revealed a few spots where the coating "slipped" under the painter's tape I used. I spoke to Adams, and they said some compound will remove it |

The forum members told me if I had the manual transmission itch nothing else would scratch it. So I added a Harrop supercharger to my dct e93…… and then moved it to a manual e90 and never looked back.
The forum members told me I’d graduate to a P car from the M platform. I said Never! Their value is unmatched with the pricing. Let’s see how that turned out: Preparing Rocky (my Harrop e90) for the arrival of his new older sister, a ‘99 996 with upgraded wheels and IMS bearing, otherwise stock with 6mt and 54k miles. Ironically I view this new acquisition as my slow car to drive fast…. |

My LCI tail lights from Mashimarho started fading so I finally put my original pre-LCI lights back on. |

You’re anticipating needing a diff cooler in this car? Assuming that’s what I’m looking at.

Washed it and switched the wheels and pads back to street mode. In the last few weekends I did Thunderhill east and then drove the car down to buttonwillow and did my first BW track day on the 13cw configuration. I had an absolute blast! I don't think I've ever had so much fun on a track... that's a killer race track! The car survived. I'm always a little nervous for it as I've had a few track related mechanical failures in the past, so making the 250 mile journey each way felt somewhat of an accomplishment for me and the car.. lol. Enjoy your weekend.. cheers.

E92 Transmission Service
Hello, I called the BMW dealer today, and they informed me that the dealer does not recommend a transmission fluid change for the vehicle's life. I have a 2011 M3, and the transmission is jolting in traffic. Any recommendations?

There's tons of threads on DCT fluid change. TL;DR - stop going to the dealer and get it changed at a good indy BMW mech.

That said, you may just have the throttle set too aggressively for stop and go traffic. If it’s set to an aggressive setting the car is more likely to lurch in those situations. I’ve experienced it with both transmissions. Down at the gear shift there is a button labeled Power. Next time in that situation hit that button so the light is no longer illuminated. That switches the throttle to the least aggressive setting and makes slow speed driving smoother. If all is well, then not a transmission problem. I get the same problem on my wife’s x5 when the throttle is set to sport plus. |

Agree some rim protection is gold worth. I do the easy way and put some Trurtle ceramic on every season when changing between summers/winders. Rarely clean the rim barrel in between, degreaser and high pressure does the job. |
