Evaporator / Noisy Interior

I just got the evaporator replaced under warranty by the dealer, he assured me they do a lot of these and not to worry about it.

However I picked my car up this evening and it is noticeably louder. It sounds like it is coming from behind the cluster.

You guys have any idea about what they might have forgotten?

Could it be leaking? It's not really supposed to make any noise normally.

It looks like it was the boot that goes around the column, apparently it didn't get put back correctly.

I took it back and they fixed it in like 20min

Bumped this thread for similar problem:

My 2009 E92 M3 just had AC evap replaced at my local BMW dealer under extended warranty. AC was not blowing as cold as before. Post replacement AC works great with no marks on trim and no new interior rattles. However- there is now a very irritating air whistling noise that comes on at about 50mph. Was definitely NOT present before Evap replacement. Comes on at lower mph when driving into headwind. Present with AC on or off- though it briefly stops for a few seconds when the AC is turned on or off. Seems to originate from above drivers side of dash. Will try to attach video with noise.

The Dealer initially claimed the noise was not related to the AC evap replacement- but they are looking things over. I was told it wasn't the steering column boot.

Anybody with similar problem after AC evap replacement?
