Person parked beside me scratched and hit my car without telling me. What do I do?

Insurance inspectors can (and will) take paint samples from the damage and can match it to the other vehicle. They did this for a hit and run on my parked car many years ago.

I am so sorry to hear your story. I have no idea about Canadian law but contacting law enforcement and your insurance right away is great. Good thing for the offender that you live in Canada because a shotgun blast through the window of his/her unoccupied vehicle would be my kind of justice. An accident on the road is one thing but significantly damaging your new bimmer in a parking lot and not reporting it to you plus lying to your face deserves prison time.

This is why I have battery backup for my dashcams. And two rainproof stickers saying recording is going on all the time.
