Cupholder rattle

Hi guys I hope all of you are doing well and enjoying your car. I have a question and would be great if I can get some feedback. Do any of you have a rattle noise coming directly from the front Cupholder console?

Nothing.....yet.

I would start with dismantling the center console and seeing what needs to be tightened up or if something is misplaced.

I've got a rattle too. I think its the center vent that was replaced by the dealer under warranty when the vents fell apart.
When I push it in the center around the switches the rattling stops. I took it apart and found nothing visually wrong.
The new vent is around $100 from ECS. just don't want to spend that much on a occasional rattle. I think all just wait until it falls apart again.....

I had a rattle from that area before the cupholder stopped extending. A new cupholder solved both problems. 51459174143, about $45.

The cup holder is the worst part of the e92. I've only opened mine twice, that plus the few times a curious new passenger has to try it out.

Just thought I would share my issue in case other's start developing this issue. Similar to OP, I had recently developed a rattle from the cupholder, but would only rattle when the cupholder was in the closed position. I took it apart and noticed the pin in the back that sits in the hole in the back as mentioned above had completely broken off. I ended up buying a new cupholder and no longer have a rattle.
