6 months with my 2011 E90 M3 (My first M)

I have now owned my 11 E90 M3 for half a year. This was my first ever M car.. what an absolutely awesome way to start the M experience. I had always lusted after an E9X M3, with the S65B40 motor. When the E9X M3 was first debuted, I was purely mesmerized by the sound of that V8, it sounded like a jet taking off, screaming at 8k rpm. I loved everything about it. It was like a spaceship when I first got to sit in it at the auto show.

Years later in March 2021, I was finally able to pull the trigger on my beloved E90 M3! I had no idea what to expect, but I spent hours on m3post researching these cars, and daydreaming. I have driven way faster cars, but this is truly the best car I have driven. It's intoxicating and addictive to drive, I don't think I can ever get sick of it. It also makes my daily commute WAY better. It being an e90 4 door, with executive package, no challenge I've thrown at it has been an issue. The experience of the e9x m3 cannot be described, you just have to go out and drive one to understand. It's a legend. Whether its going on a canyon run, beating on it on the track, driving to work etc, my M3 has proven awesome in all these factors!

My car is equipped with DCT, which is absolutely phenomenal IMO. Shifts and mesmerizing, but still have that 'drama'. It is a tiny bit clunky around town and in slow moving traffic, but it barely bothers me, I'm sure a GTS tune would solve that problem. Leaps and bounds ahead of how dreadful smg is in traffic. The comparison cannot even be made.

Engine currently has 37k miles on it, no plans of thinking about RB's for a bit! Oil changes done every 4500 kilometres. I am planning on winter driving it, wish me luck!

Modifications wise - my car has 18 inch apex ARC8's on Pilot 4s's, KW V3 coilovers, Megan exhaust paired to high flow cats, LUX angel eyes, a CF splitter, and a CF spoiler lip. I do plan to keep going across the next few months!

Some pics of the beast-

congratulations on your 6 month anniversary! these cars are very special indeed.. not fast at all by todays standards but the driving experience crushes all the new "tech" being pushed out lately so hold her tight for years to come and enjoy her in good health!

cheers!

Congrats. Totally agreed a phenomenal overall car and IMHO the best car ever made at its price point.

Ha! That is so awesome! I plan to do the same, hoping to add a 6mt sedan along side my DCT in a few years. Best of both amazing worlds. With the E9X M3, you can't go wrong with either of the two transmissions imo. But having both at once, that is truly living the best life!
