How to remove these stains?

Hi,

My 2011 e92 M3, mineral white has these stains near all wheel wells by the rocker panels. i have tried several times to remove them, but it wont budge. Today i tried dawn + vinegar, simple green, and wd-40. I am out of ideas, any help would be appreciated.

Nothing you listed is abrasive. Try something like clay bar or a swirl mark remover. If that doesn't work, move to something more aggressive.

If in doubt, take it to a professional.

Should i try a fine or medium or heavy duty clay bar for these stains? Or recomendations on a specific brand? Im looking at chemical guys but not sure what grade to get.

I bought the car 6 months ago so not sure if its ever been detailed.

I bought chemical guys OG clay bar (yellow) and clayed the car this weekend. the stains didnt budge. not sure if i didnt get a stronger clay bar of if i need to take it to a pro. the stains are still rough/bumpy.

Rough..Bumpy ? That sounds like a bad paint job to me..
Was your car previously re-sprayed ?

i am not sure. i bought the car 6 months ago. the indy that did the PPI didnt mention anything about repaint, although i am also starting to wonder the same. Only thing thats odd is that the rest of the side skirt is smooth. its only rough/bumpy around the wheel wells.

Almost looks like a poorly prepped respray and the clear/paint is failing, or some sort of overspray.

These areas are very susceptible to wear, and therefore more susceptible to staining.
I think and painting in that area would be noticeable with the gaps.

I would try Maguires ultimate compound with a light cutting pad on an orbital machine. Not aggressive enough to cause problems, but should clean up the surface stains.

Like I said above in # 11 . I think it was a quick cheap overspray..

That's kinda what it looks like to me also, try some paint thinner on a rag and wipe it a couple times to see if it comes off. if its not a smooth surface, then it was probably repainted improperly.

That looks like failing clear coat to me or road paint that kicked up. Maybe wash the car or at least the rockers and lower bumpers and take a few new pics in better light, it's a little hard to see what's going on. If possible, I would try some Meguiar's compound or some clay bar like others have suggested. If you can seem to fix it, then a visit to your local detail shop may be necessary.

Looks like text book failing clear coat after one of those "spot-fix" repairs that bodyshops and dealers use for quick jobs.

Try a cutting polish like M205 with a mildly cutting pad. Might fix it enough.
