The best thing to do is to secure a resolution of the refund. After the bad press, PYSPEED has offered to pay for shipping and a full refund so the OP should take the offer. With PYSPEED's display of poor servicing and the OP not being able to trust vendor(s), maybe a 50% of the refund up front and 50% on arrival of the hood would be a display of good faith from PYSPEED and possibly the OP would be more comfortable with shipping the hood. It would not be fair for PYSPEED to send 100% of the refund before the op ships the product.

OP, you really can't expect ARKYM and PYSPEED to man up with the type of servicing you've seen. I too am a young businessman and I've learned early on to avoid at all costs to do business with people like this no matter how much financial growth is feasible. If you're already in the mud, take the best and least time consuming option to get out of the "mud" and move on with your life. You loose more than hard earned cash at the end of the day waiting for ARKYM and PYSPEED to get on their knees and wait for their apologies; to be quite realistic, with their actions so far, its likely it will not happen. Be the wise man and fix your problems don't spend time growing your frustrations. With the offer from PYSPEED on the table and the word out about PYSPEED and ARKYM, I think you've already won bro. Either way, good luck..

That's true. I understand that would make sense in a defective iPod case where it might be able to be refurbished. But this is a hood...

He already took pictures showing glaring quality issues with the product. At the point where they're not going to fix or reuse the part, getting everyone to agree that the product was defective and having the OP throw it out would be the best interest for everyone. Shipping a hood is $$$.

Arkym and PY should just return the guy's cash in exchange for proof that OP received a defective hood and dumped it in the garbage. Mistakes happen... take a bat to it and move on

I read somewhere that the guys at PYSpeed are the same guys that started ARKYM, and that a current PYSpeed employee still has an interest in ARKYM.

If this is true, does that complicate things? Conflict of interest?

If true, then yes. It would be a big issue and probably change my opinion on what is going on here.

Office analogy is perfect seeing as we done ALL of the work OURSELVES as a team from constructing it to adding the finishing touches. Before you say it, yes we have qualified members to the electric etc etc.

Um yea, I can clearly see you have insufficient office etiquette then, trust me if you were in my situation and the company just stopped replying out of the blue you would be PISSED.

I am not here to generate negativity, far from it, if you met me in reality you would see I am one of the most positive people out there so move on, please and thank you!
A OEM hood isn't that expensive..

I dont have that option...
Installed the Arkym hood on my e90 and it fits like SH*T. not as bad as O.P's yet it still obatains the gaps by the pillar and fenders Unfortuneatly I purchased the hood second hand so no option for return.
Looks like im going to have to trick some unsuspecting e90 m3 owner to trade me his oem hood

WOW!!!! What ass holes. I was thinking about going with Arkym for my car, ended up choosing mode carbon. Very happy with my choice and highly recommend them.

To recap:
-OP got bunk hood
-OP has been waiting for many months for resolution
-PY finally provided an option for refund recently
-OP decided it's not enough given the many months of inconvenience and wants more
-PY uses iDriveBMW3 account to message back to thread thinking we wouldn't know it's PY . Forum finds out . Credibility lost.

Oh ya, no word from Arkym yet that everyone believes is owned by the same people at PY.

WOW, this is a cluster. OP give them hell. Their prices have been ludicrous for a long time on their site, and now that the Arkym product quality is starting to go south, this is the last straw.

Threads like this make me not want to deal with vendors as far as mail orders go although I know not all vendors are bad. Seems to me that SOME of vendors on this and other car threads take full advantage of the ZEAL of car enthusiasts, make plenty of money selling inferior parts or parts not as advertised. Again not all vendors are bad.

I had a body shop fix a bit of the fitment but still not happy. My main concern pertains to the gap at the pillar. looks lke the coupe fits worse then my sedan yet im still not a fan, installed a Vis hood on an e46 m3 that fit better then this. and that cost 500 not 2k.

In all honesty im slightly glad I spent less then half price as thats what the hoods worth at the most. Also I enjoy the fact that PY's customers base will diminish in this community due to this thread people need to know these people are trying to make a huge profit on pennies..I would never wish bad on someone but I hate bullsh*t retailers even if most of them just want your money..but not in an enthusiast based community, this should be the least of our concern.

Seems that PYSpeed have been removed as sponsors from the site and all related threads have been closed/removed. With one less horrible sponsor, I hope we can all move on from this and put the money where the service is. Admin please feel free to close this thread.
