Then you need a really good helmet to protect what little you have left. It works that way for me too.

Thats for the full carbon helmets, they also make ones with composite materials that run from $800-$1200.

Well, you break your arm or leg, it usually heels okay. Break your noggin, well you tell me. I know a person who was injured at VIR three years ago, and he is still not completely right. I bet you do not get a discount tire to track with your high dollar BMW. Just a thought.

I have always used OMP and have had nothing but success. I have tested out three of them in accidents too

Something simple like the lining coming off or paint chipping and OMP has always sent me a brand new helmet.

I ended up ordering the HJC ar-10. It was fairly cheaply priced, offered the low profile I was looking for, could be here in time, has HANS device compatability. Thanks for your input.

I wear a Simpson Bandit, primarily because it looks cool (re: Stig), but the most comfortable helmet I've tried on was a Sparco. The Sparco also comes with Hans anchors. If I was buying another helmet today I'd buy either the Sparco or a Bell, for the increased visibility. None of these are over $600-700 I don't think.

Chris- no where local to try one on? This is the best way to buy a helmet...both for your car and head.

Sounds like all you need is a bit of saran wrap then.....helps keep the stains off the interior.

Try as many helmets on as possible to find one that fits you best. I have a sunroof and am 6'2" and have not had an issue in my car with a few different helmets - Simpson, HJC, Bell and Stilo. My current HJC Si12 works for me. Being an instructor I get in an out of a bunch of different cars without issue.

I think you made a good decision. I've been using an HJC AR10 for years and love it. I'm 5'9" and have an E90 with a sunroof and have no issues. Its a fairly light weight and good value helmet. I dont know of any accidents where the outcome would have been different had the driver spent more money on a helmet....

my current helmet is also a hjc not sure what model so was fairly confident the fit would be okay. im hoping it has just a slightly lower profile so i fit a little better. when i get in the car now i touch and just slightly recline my seat for more room, but i tend to get shorter as i drive i think because at speed i never even notice the head room.
