Agreed. All this means is that people have to have something to complain about. Seriously, go DRIVE the damn thing and forget about the trunk. Sheesh!

I wish my car DIDN'T have so much tech.
You want a trunk that opens and closes automatically regardless of the weight compromise? Go buy a fat Lexus. It'll massage your ass for you, too.

Doesn't annoy me whatsoever... my 323i does the same thing... minimally opens when you press the trunk button on the key. Then again, I don't even bother pressing that button... I get added exercise by just walking back there and manually opening the trunk myself, lol.

+1

A power trunk lid would only remind me of the wife's Lexus power tailgate--great on a family suv not needed on a m3.

If you want the feature badly enough, take it to a shop that does high end custom audio work, and they'll set you up with a remote controlled trunk in a weekend for $600. It would be easy to tie an actuator control box into being triggered by the lock release.

I imagine this is probably the reason. Makes sense. Also, I was just making a simple point about a feature the car doesn't have. Didn't expect certain people to jump down my throat about it. A couple people on here need to relax and get laid, or atleast get a lap dance or something.

Threads like this just make me sad... show's who's buying M cars now.
And proves BMW is doing what the "market" wants.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

People can complain about how there is no heated steering wheel, and how the trunk doesn't open by itself, and how the doors won't close by themselves, and how people want an M Sports car with X Drive.

Next thing you know, people want it to be the next S class. They expect it to stop and go in traffic by itself also. It's "suppose" to be a freaking sports car. Not a car your driver takes you around in.

Upcoming 2012 911 does have a promising interior. Looks more upscale than the current.

Any word if the new 911 will gain weight with this move?
