Yeah, I need engine oil too but they're telling me its not free and that I'll have to pay for it when I go in tomorrow. Can anyone confirm if this is true?

Even if you have to buy it, it's not that expensive. Only $10 a quart. |

my point is... i thought it would be free if i visit the dealership. i was under the impression that .. "FREE" maintance. I called my SA, he told me, just come over, we top it off for you. If i know in advance it wasn't free, i wont' drive 10 miles there and be late for work. i would just order it online and ship to my house.

Long Beach said they'd top my oil off for free, but I just bought a liter because I was in a hurry and didn't want to wait for an SA.
As far as topping off vs. giving you bottles - I can see why they might not just give you a free bottle, because IIRC they buy oil by the drum in the service depts. So if they top off that's where the oil is coming from. If they just give you a bottle they have to write that off.

I'd be pissed if I bought the car there and they don't top it off. If should be covered if the car is telling you it needs oil. It's basically up to the dealers and with the slow economy, many are not doing it.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."
