I'm thinking about picking up some shares - ultra short term to gain couple bucks a share then dumping.

As long as you can do technical to get in and out quickly before big intl' and/or macro news hits, I think you can EASILY make $ on momentum.

One IPO market recently had within 18mo which I do not get is GOPro. How is that stock possibly retain that kinda value?

Some said Greece mess is already factored in (baked in) to yesterday's sell off all across the board, but I think it can get worse.

IKR!! A co-worker bought GoPro at $40 @ 1,500 shares! He reminds me every day what I missed!

I was IPO whore around 2000 even as I knew it was on secondary market. Odds of getting 15% pop that time was extremely high.

If I had 1000, and lost 200 , it would hurt my feelings more than when I have 1m and lost 100k. -20% vs -10%.
If I had 1000, 200 loss is huge. ).

That being said, I only go by % now

Personally, I have so many Money market account that i don't even know exactly how much I have. Too many special offers from discount brokerages that I transfer funds (open new acct) to get all the perks.

Between wife and I , I think we got 4money market, 2 IRA (roll over), 1 ROTH, and she has 401(k) now at her workplace. eeeeeeeeeeeekkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk.
Of course 401(k) is so new that it has very little $ in it.

I am about to close 2mm acct, and open it with different company which has local brokerage support. Thinking fidelity or schwab.

Schwab has some good perks. The FA's are good with their people too.

I am so tired of rolling over 401K into IRA off of the phone. It is about 1.5hr task. If FA can do that as a support role, I would definitely be interested.

I've heard about schwab from one of the investment club lady I know. Even branch mgrs will call few active trader/investor and have lunch. Nice way to have clients keep on trading for commission. I will prob go to youtube and see if they have good platform relative to others.

Any loss is bad for me.

I don't like losses, sport. Nothing ruins my day more than losses. Now you do good, you get perks, lots and lots of perks.
