Which Module Controls Confort Access?
Hello Everyone,
I just can't find a solution to the CA issues I have. I have posted a few times in the past, but just can't find a solution. CA just dies on me; doors won't open [touching the doors or pushing the button], and I have to use the physical key. Seat memory is gone, the memory buttons show "unassigned", AC goes to "manual', EDC goes to "normal". Does any of you know which module control the CA features? I have to replace this thing and see if it works. BTW, no errors. Thank you all. |

Okay. I can actually help you out with this pretty easy.
I think the easiest way to tell if something is awry is to see if the fuse blew for the CA module. If your car is configured with CA, then you have a designated module for this feature. The usual culprits are the door handles themselves as the integrated antennas "short out" causing the 5 amp fuse to blow. So checking the fuse for this is the first step. Should be fuse 61. You could also just connect ISTA D and determine if the CA module is even reporting. Anyway, report back your findings.

Also, I don't know what is the CA module to check on ISTA, but ISTA shows zero issue, no errors. Thanks! Last edited by KawBoy; 03-01-2024 at 08:41 AM.. |

I had to replace both the “Passive GO” module and the CA module in my BMW 128i to fix similar problems not to mention the wiring harness for them. Water damage fried the system. I’ll send part numbers over later for comparison, just remind me. The fuse being blown was the symptom of a resulting electric short from the water damage.
