E9X M3 vs 1M Collectible Values
I'm sure many have noticed low mileage e9x M3's have been posting some crazy prices this year. What was surprising to me is that 1M prices have been coming down, whereas the collectible M3s ticked up this year.

Yeah, that is kinda crazy considering the super low production numbers on the 1M. From a purely collectible stand point that would be the one to get. Personally I prefer the M3 overall, mainly for the engine. Also I want to drive my cars and I would be less inclined to drive the 1M due to the same collectability factor.

Could the arguably ordinary BMW engine in the 1M be detracting from its desirability?
I know I’d love one, but it’s Definately not due to its engine. |

100% if it were to be given its own motor it might have been a supreme buying frenzy.. just imagine if they dropped an NA v8 in there..

I know it started out as a 135i, but it's basically a 1M with all the parts from the E9X platform and the S65 now.

I just love that people have slammed an S65 in a 1-series. I thought it was incredible enough that BMW M figured out how to slam the S65 into a compact executive car. Love it!
