E92 M3 V8 rear subframe rust/corroded

For the MOT can the rust etc be cut out, plated and seam welded to pass the MOT.

Searched for a replacement, most are not much better

U.K. based EVOLVE Automotive Evolve Automotive wanted to do the same thing on one of their high mileage E92 M3 project cars. It turned out to be cheaper and safer to replace the whole subframe due to other cracks exposed during the attempted restoration and powder coating preparation. Considering the cost of the labor to remove and weld up the cracked and rusted subframe (if that's even possible) I think it's worth the extra investment expense to replace the subframe with a new one or good condition used one not exposed yet to U.K. salted roads.

Ehhhh, depending on if you want new or used. New I think it’s like 1.5K and some used ones go for anywhere between 400-900 depending on condition, mileage, bushing condition, etc.

Find a used one with 40-70K miles, knock out the old bushings, press solid in and you should be good forever.
